4 Alpines in one rally, and a couple of them were pretty quick.

Are they definitely running to FIA R-GT regs? Seems incredible if so. The R5/Rally2 manufacturers will be talking to the FIA...

I hope they are according to RGT regs, if so they will sell many more cars, showing this kind of speed!

I think I read somewhere that the RGT restrictors had been adjusted down, or do I remember wrong?

Looking forward to seing this car sliding on gravel or snow in MC. On the loose it will be more internal RGT competition, but drivers will love playing with it! The car looks smashing, and will have opened the eyes of many potential curtomers!

Alpine will have collected tons of data in this rally, to further fine-tune it.

Would love to see Mr Loeb in one of these in the next french tarmac round!

I ask myself the same question. Are they competing in the same category like Abarth 124? Alpines seem much faster! Guigou finished Rallye Mont Blanc Morzine in the 3rd position and Pellier was 6th! They were much faster than most R5 cars. Abarth was never so quick.

Some photos of Alpine cars from this event can be found here:

I don't know if and how it can affect Alpine A110 R-GT programme, but I have just read that in 2021 Renault's Formula 1 team will be renamed to Alpine F1 Team:

Probably only a good thing, hadn't there been a question mark over the future of the Alpine brand? Should raise the profile of Alpine and the RGT program will be small change by comparison. Also, Renault are already funding both programs this year.

Yep, it seems the A110 is actually homologated under FIA RGT rules. Alpine purpose was always to build a GT rally car able to run in any championship. Besides, FFSA RGT regulation is copy paste from FIA’s Art.256 (apart a small detail regarding Led lamp pods); definitely different from the local GT+ (more liberal) or GT (sort of N/GT) categories.

Actually that’s good news, once the Alpine brand was rumored to vanish once more, before the new CEO (Luca de Meo, ex-SEAT) arrival. Apparently De Meo plan is to make Alpine a larger sport brand inside the group, launching new models and taking Renault motorsport activities. Fingers crossed!
