Is that an F1 engine in the Graeme Wights' car? Seem to remember hearing at some point that he was trying to do it, might have been the Shelsley Centenary.

Due to sprinting commitments I didn't get to the nationals this year (I live about 30 minutes from Wiscombe) so would have been nice to see the programme, just a shame I don't have Sky
You're so beige, you probably think this signature is about someone else.

It's not a Judd V10, its the 3 litre Arrows V10 which was a development of the Hart V10 that Jordan used prior to thier involvement with Peugeot & Mugen-Honda. The use of the F1 derived V10 has its advantages and disadvantages, the pros are light weight, compactness and sheer power, the downsides are that its had various reliablility issues (mainly to do with the Arrows F1 gearbox). The GWR Predator V10 does make an awesome noise though, which means that despite it's patchy reliability and therefore performance, its a crowd favorite.

You'd be surprised : Remember that it's 23 seconds 4 times a day and there is a huge strain put on the things in that time, usually all twisty stuff and a lot of changes.

Plus when you are spending money on an F1 drivtrain and a Gould chassis, plus all the equipment and effort to get to the event then you'd rather it didn't go wrong. After all these guys are 'amateurs' who run because they enjoy it, not for a wage.
