Johnny Herbert Karting
This annual charity event takes place again this year at the Raceway, Docklands on the 23rd November and will once again raise money for the Air Ambulance.
Current and former racing drivers, as well as celebs, take part and if you want to go and watch I think it's only around £5 to get in.Riccardo Patrese - 256GPs 1977-1993

Sounds like quite an event.
A couple of guys from the karting championship I compete in - Club 100 - finished second [they're a little better than me!], ahead of a Mr R. It was a great event mokin: Getting there was a bit of an adventure given the weather, but it was well worth it.
Quite a mix of drivers had turned up to support the charity. In addition to the ex-F1 boys like Herbert, Pirro and Patrese the likes of Tina Hobley, Louise Goodman, Ted Kravitz, Freddie Hunt and Nick Mason were competiting. IIRC there were about 28 teams entered for the 3hr event.
Oh, and Riccardo won the trophy for fastest lap of the dayRiccardo Patrese - 256GPs 1977-1993

Interesting that they've added Barry Scott to the 'celebrity list' on the event site, although I'm pretty sure it's the guy who heads internet amateur racing organisation Race Drivers Inc and has entered a team rather than the 'star' of the Cillit Bang cleaning product TV advertisements...

Yes I fear so too, you just need to look at the new cost for tourists to get into Venice and when everyone sees the amount of money being made others will soon follow, and prices will go up. As...
