McRae was supposed to return to WRC
Just red this in Finnish MTV3:
http://www.mtv3.fi/urheilu/ralli/uut...2008/09/707813
Basically it says that Colin was supposed to return last season to Subaru and drive few rallies. The plan discussed between with Richards, Lapworth and Colin was to develop the car last season and finally drive this whole season.
Apparently this was discussed just 24 hrs before the tragic accident.Blessed are the woodheads since when the flood will arise they won't drown.

A dam shame we would never see Colin back in the WRC
as he could make the Fabia work, there was no doubt he could of made the Subaru win in his hands

McRae had a 'done deal' to drive for Subaru in Rally Ireland and Rally GB last year and it was a nearly done deal for the whole 2008 season.

Gutted too i really wanted to see McRae back in the WRC.
As its already been said look how well he did with the Skoda Fabia WRC im sure he would have been competitive with Subaru and it would have certainly given the World Rally Championship a massive boost.Colin McRae

I’ve loved to see one of the old icons competing against the “youngsters”.

hmmm i don;t think he could challenge atko or peter in subaru...but unfortunatelly we will never know.
On events such as New Zealand, Australia and Rally GB he would definately stand a chance!!!Colin McRae

Really waiting for rally Portugal to see Meeke's pace! Oliver will have proper challenge.. as Meeke smashed others.. yes, had puncture.. but still DOMINATED :D
