Here are the reports for the 1986 Boucles de Spa for you Janusz, and I am sorry if it appeared that I was correcting you! I was merely copying the text from the results in front of me - which if you now look at them side by side, there are some differences! I will let you decide what to believe and what to ignore.

Has anybody start-list for '86 Günaydin ?

Hi David,
Thank you for explanation and some scanns. Don't be sorry that you did a correction. That is a problem for us "historians" that some sources are not reliable... It sometimes happens with the solid newspapers, magazines or persons like f.e. M. Holmes. They all work on materials prepared by organizers. Typing of entry list was allways a secretary job... They did a lot of mispells or even stupid interpretations of names not clearly filled in entry papers. I am afraid that most of those differences you pointed were mistakes in the list journalist got to do their job. As a first try check all those names in RallyBase driver's section. It confirms all names I used with a small exception of certain Sevrin. Sevrin does not have the first name there. At the moment I don't remember where from I took his name.
To illustrate secretaries' stupid mistake there was a situation on one of Polish Rallies in the 60's. A team from Sweden was entered with the driver not announced at time papers had to be sent to organizers. Later on in the list AND IN THE PRESS REPORTS (!!!) you could read about a Swedish driver called N. Anounce.
It shows that working on old papers you have to be very carefull. It is allways better if you can make comparishion with other sources of those times.
But all corrections and such scanns as you sent are usefull. Thank you.

Hi Janusz,

Thank you for being so understanding. I am not new to research, but as I am only looking for MG Metro 6R4 / Rover Vitesse / MG ZR Super 1600 / MG Super 2000 Sport results, MOST of the drivers and co-drivers are names I have seen before, so there are no problems spelling them incorrectly! I will remember next time that I must not trust 100% what is infront of me in print!

You wrote: - there was a Austrian rally called Semperit in the earliers 1970's (In my DB I have the last edition in 1973 as the "15th International Semperit Rally"), according to Janusz we have in 1986 ERC Calendar the "6th Semperit Rallye", I suppose there are not the "same" semperit... Can somebody clarify this? At the moment I can't explain how it happened, but yur supposition is correct: there are two different rallies in Austria called SEMPERIT...
