Any rumours for BTCC 2009?
I've only just started watching the BTCC again. I used to be a big fan in the nineties, with the sprint and feature race, mandatory pit stops, Murray Walker (then Charlie Cox). I even have a bit of John Clellands Vauhall from an off at Knockhill (might have been 1998 or 9).
But i moved away for a few years, and since coming back have only seen bits and pieces. Its still good racing, but the success ballast, reversed grid and lack of works cars are quite irritating. Still, at least they don't have the production cars running at the back anymore.
Are there any plans for more manufacturers to join the series? I'll settle for any rumours though.
Good to see the BTCC getting proper coverage again as well.If you aren't touching, you aren't racing.

Well unfortunately it's not the best of times to embark on a touring car campaign with the current credit and economic situation...

MN Say VXR will run the Vectra again with Giovanardi and Neal in 2009, while Onslow-Cole's seat in the team depends on outside funding.
You lot still here?!

Vauxhall keep Giovanardi, Vectra for 2009:

Vauxhall are repeating what they did in 2004 then, where they raced the Astra Coupe when it was replaced with the Sport Hatch at the time.

I was wondering, if VX want to continue with the Vectra if they would build any more or stick with the current chassis? There were 11 Astra Coupes of the course of 4 years, admittedly two were for a satellite operation.
