    I have a question

Sorry if I am spamming, but I was browsing wikipedia, searching info about sportscar racing and read about Grand Am and ALMS, which are both US sportscar series. Can you tell me more about the differences between the two, between the LMP cars and the DP cars and whether this series are hurting each other, like Champ Car and the IRL did?

DPs are like NASCAR with its regulations - very restrictive but very cheap and therefore a lot slower to LMPs.

ALMS is more like F1 with its technology but they co-exist well because Grand Am appeals to teams with a restrictive budget.

Some Grand Am meetings they have separate races for GTs and DPs.

ALMS is more popular because it satisfies the purists.

although i certainly prefer alms, grandam has it's place also. Thank goodness they decided to run the dp's and gt's together this year at midohio. Now that was fun getting drenched yesterday. The esses was the place to be.

Thank you for the answers. This forum is very cool and people are very friendly (except when we are discussing Lewis and Danica), that's why I am here so many years...
