    Stewart on the big one

Not as good as dart without feathers, but another good one from Tony:

The cars of Stewart, Harvick, Sadler and Hamlin were severely damaged with only Stewart and Harvick able to return to action, although they were far off the pace. Earnhardt finished 35th, Harvick 38th and Stewart 41st, 201 laps behind the victor. Hamlin was scored 43rd.

"It is my fault for being anywhere close to Elliott (Sadler)," Stewart said. "If I'm within a half lap of him, I expect that to happen. It's my fault."

Elliott Sadler should tell Tony Stewart that the brake pedal is the one in the middle.
Some spotters may have dropped the ball on this one ...

someone needs to tell Hamlin where the brake pedal is

I agree, Hamlin was really flying when he piled-in ... then he got hit really hard
it seemed to me there was a lot more drivers taking than there was giving in the early part of the race ...
Sadler tried to push his way in & Gilliland wasn't about to let-up ...
the big crash was a result of drivers racing each other too hard too early ...
I hope people noticed that Mark Martin & Jeff Burton slowed-up & avoided the big crash.

Gilliland seems to wreck someone week in week out.

No driver dropped out of the top 12 in points, however some did move down a few spots ...

from nascar.com : (edited for clarity)
"Of the 11 cars involved in the wreck at Dover, 6 were in the top 12 in points.
Denny Hamlin took the biggest hit, he didn't return & dropped 5 spots to 9th.
Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick & Clint Bowyer (36th) each fell 3 places in the points."

    I noticed no-one mentioned Elliott's spotter.

To say " clear, clear all around" when there is a car beneath you is somewhat optimistic.

If Gilliland is near such crap driving/spotting it's hardly surprising he is wrecking.

Why didn't Elliot make any attempt to straighten up? Just plough down the back straightaway and hope everyone avoids you?

That one wasn't his fault. Sadler doesn't take a back seat in the wrecking category either. Gilliland is also ahead of Elliott in driver's points.
