History (1)
Welcome Madeira island, Katxal and CEORacingLions.
1993-Andrea Aghini had a big and dangerous crash when he was trying to catch P. Snijers in the leadership of rally.
Patrick Snijers won the rally with his Ford Escort RS Cosworth!

I see the Portugal Rally , you too ? Sincerely i expect more , few,few public on stages .
You think the list can be better than Portogallo ?
When i went to Madeira in 2001 the stages have many , many people. People lives even the Rally.
Which the stages you think are good ? In 2001 i see Santi di Serra, Rifarta and the best Encomiada !!!!
Best regards.

About the people, yes I think you will find here more passion and more people in stages but I'm not absolutely sure if it will be more that you found in 2001. it was the WRC era!!
About the better places to see the rally. Yes basically the rally is the same, so you can see once again in the Santo da Serra and Referta (Campo de golfe stage) in the first day, and Saturday The Stage of Rosário very close to the finish of the stage you have a good place , but be careful, you will find to many spectators

It will be difficult to have a better entry list than Rally de Portugal..
Rally de Portugal organizers spend a lot of money bringing 6 / 7 cars....
In Madeira organization use to pay for 1 / 2 cars...

Other editions Madeira have a nice entry list , why this year not possible ?
Once this year i'm going to Madeira , government ruin the Rally .
But well , i think at least 10-15 S2000.
Madeira is a Europe and IRC Rally , people like the rally and i think is the rally with many spectators of all season. Not ?
It's sad to know that politics can spoil one of the best things that Madeira's had.
There is more news about it say anything.

Well, I did not say that we will have a poor entry list, I've said that Rally of Portugal had much more money to spend in comparison with us...part of our budget goes for IRC/Eurosport and other logistic issues. Do you have an idea how much cost to organize a rally with this dimension in a island? Do you have an idea how much cost for any team to bring all of their competitive resources during a week?. Too much money... When I told you about the support that was given for portuguese government to the Rally of Portugal it was because Í'm not sure that the local authorities will have the same ability to make a similar effort and for now Madeira island is part of Portugal!!
For sure, if you come here you will see 10/15 S2000 in action showing an intense pace, friendly people, good food and nice hotels!
First leg he will be thinking in Portuguese championship. Then he can go for WRC2.
