Since yesterday, Hyundai is testing in Finnish forests with two units of the Hyundai i20 WRC. The first one, the current aims pilots put up the car ahead of rallies such as Poland and Finland , very fast and narrow where the work of the suspensions is key. The other is the unit of 2016 , already tested a few weeks ago and Kevin Abbring Dani Sordo on asphalt , and Thierry Neuville and Hayden Paddon are by testing in the same sections as the one currently used in the WRC.
The intention is obviously to compare both units times during these trials to be held Monday through Thursday and whether steps are being taken on the computer are correct. According to point from Germany, the car is already half a second per kilometer faster than at present and is still only 50% of its development before it makes its final debut at the upcoming Rallye Monte-Carlo in 2016.

If it was really half a second faster it would be in the field now and they would not have delayed its debut in 2016. Yes, it's not only a matter of speed but...

According to their own data they sold 67917 new generation i20 in 2014 but of that number only 22782 was global model (the rest is Indian model which I don't know how much is diferent). Anyway even with the global model they must have reached the 25000 number in early January. Of course these are sale numbers, not production numbers.

The new i20 looks so much more powerful than the older one.

Latvala already said for 2025-2026 they should just take the hybrids out.
