Please do not proceed estimating anyone’s speed from testing videos.

Also, in 2018 we had a driver having used Fiestas for all of his WRC career sit into a Yaris...

We ought to distinguish things here a bit...

    1. a driver on a test vid can "look" aggressive, rugged, carefull, clean etc.

    2. Based on that we can presume he is driving faster or slower, but only the clock tells the truth.

    3. There can be very little relation between all this and the speed on a stage on an actual event.

    ----------

Talking about speed on an event based on test vid is obviously quite ridiculous. A bit more realistic is talking whether he is driving slow or fast but still it's mostly perception.

However, talking about how a test drive looks should be absolutely normal and encouraged here.

So I don't like the recent trend that people who mention 1. get responses with arguments about 3.

i think just that people got upset yesterday about the "slow as shit" commentary...

otherwise i agree that its welcomed here that people express their opinion what they see on the vids. Like you said we dont know the times but we can indeed see if the driver is agressive and etc.

on Tuesday, after all the guys have finished their first tests, id like actually that someone makes a like a little review how everybody looked etc. dimviii for example.

For me it is very interesting to read. I miss the noseendfirst guy who did those "reviews" here back in the day.

Very impressive video from Ogier. Makes you wonder how dominant he could be if this car fits him like the Polo did...

I would say that his driving is rather edgy.. Okay, the road is a bit slippier, but still.. If I didn't know that it is Ogier, I could have easily said Kalle.. Nothing bad about Ogier, but due to slippy conditions the drive seems slow.

    I want to add:

    - We usually only get to see some passes of a test day. We might see a driver on a pass with wrong setup or wrong tyres or warming tyres or whatnot
    - in testing videos, we only see a few corners of a test run. We might see only the bad/good corner of the run
    - we don’t know the conditions or the target of the test
    - what looks fast may actually be (and usually is) slow, and vice versa

So, do we have any official statement from Mr.Ogier; how the new car handles, where are the advantages compare to C3 & Fiesta...and god forbid no disadvantages compare to mentioned cars...he had his share of disadvantages in this season..
