Even on a stage sometimes it’s hard to tell how effective a car/driver can actually be; I remember watching all 4 cars testing here prior to 2017 gravel events and Meeke’s C3 looked mindblowing fast. Anyway, Suninen’s footage is simply great!

The Panzerplatte test base has been completely banned since last year for spectators

    More on Bottas: https://www.rallyssimo.it/2019/08/16...la-yaris-dice/

"The same Finnish driver is enthusiastic about these experiences on rally cars, as he himself states:

"It's really fun. When I tested the Yaris it was great, driving such a powerful car on the tarmac is incredible, especially for me coming from the track. At the end of that day, I was in line with the times of Kris Meeke, who had tested a few hours before me.

A day of testing in rallies is more fun and less stressful than a Formula 1 weekend. There is no pressure that grips you, neither internal nor external."

Soon we will know the future of Valterri, which is still in the balance, given that we play the Mercedes seat with Ocon. In case of goodbye to the silver arrow, the doors of the Rally could open…. "

There is guys waiting for opportunity and not just slow ones and why the hell suddenly some blokes from formula have advantage over them. Not accepting this and I never will.

He has same right to enter rally as anyone else. If he or his sponsors can fund it, it’s most certainly not for the average rally fan to dispute.
    Bring it on, I say.

Ok that explains it. Was the most likely explanation anyway.

This. I also remember Rally Finland shakedown 2018 and seeing Rovanperä and thinking "wow he's careful on the first pass" and it was the fastest time.

It's a different thing to watch a testing video and say "wow that looks great/spectacular/enjoyable" or "wow that car will be faster than the others"

The only downside could be that a certain sponsor would find it more interesting to put their money on a famous F1 driver rather than an upcoming talent.
