When do they learn?
When do the crews learn to take a rope to the car? Not only in winter events but also durring summer it's one of THE items to have with you, wonder how many minutes would have been saved in this case...

Indeed.. and why didnt the driver in this case actually try and use the little traction he has to give the spectators a help on getting him out???
Ratchet straps can also be good in certain situations..The emergence of the new 'Rainmaster' - Mad Max at Interlagos 2016!

But the best option would have been to pull the front of the car onto the road like they did at the back.
But as DJ says, a rope would have been very useful. I remember seeing one car stuck at an event over here that had a rope in the boot of the car already attached, so when he went off the codriver got out, opened the boot and got the rope ready even before any spectators arrived on the sceneIf the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off!
