I think Neuville is simply happy because now he knows the speed of the Hyundai is good. Always a question at the start of every season, you don't know how much the other teams have progressed.

Of course there are many factors. But he has only 2 rallies to drive so far, this year. And with such a result/stage times in Monte he puts a ton of pressure on himself for Sweden...

"Ploughing" in Sweden is only when there's fresh snow, Ogier has won it several times starting from first position. I think for Neuville it's equally good if he finishes first or second in Monte....

Duval was once quickest on shakedown driving a Fabia WRC, and that was in Catalunya when it was still full tarmac... Shakedown isn't that representative for the rally itself, especially in Monte.

When we were visiting the Turini some years ago police were stopping all cars to ask if they had snow chains. Without them you weren't allowed to continue, and had to turn back.
