Thats how I saw it too, I don't think he was ever going to make it at that speed (maybe on a clean dry road, but its Monte) - though if he'd had a better line with later apex he might have got away...

I've seen a driver and codriver walk 5km back...
I've seen a driver and codriver walk 5km back into a stage from the end to collect a wheel they left behind, so they could patch the car up and limp to service. Quite funny really but it worked.

Meeke was 4th at Monte with it last year and won...
Meeke was 4th at Monte with it last year and won the powerstage, thats not so bad even if it wasn't a very consistent rally.
It was the only car not overheating in Mexico IIRC. -

I think it was mostly bumps that seemed to upset the C3 and make it unpredictable, grip changes not such a problem if the surface is relatively smooth.
