This is an angular, very hybrid favourable stage. Long accelerations and heavy brakings.
Also it seems the surface is more consistently slippery so it favours Hyundais, even Rovanperä said it's more comfortable to drive on slippery.
The Master has spoken again...
How many picked Loeb to win (in pickems)? :)
Total Legend !
One point to remember: Monte Carlo, even dryer that usual, is a special rally and it is too early to think it will be representative of the quality of the car in a season, all the more with the 7-out-of 8 gravel rallie series between Portugal and New Zealand that can change the situation. And Sweden also is special so difficult to have a real opinion before having at least one standard tarmac and one standard gravel rally (so Portugal or Sardinia).
The system is all new and they can improve things: for example, Hyundai’s leaders are close from M-Sport drivers (except Loeb) now so the car might not be that bad (okay, Hyundai’s driver are better also but probably Hyundai’s preparation was slighter so the improvement margin through the season is higher). Probably M-Sport is higher to their final version (I mean by this when you reach the level where no major evolution is forecasted for the rest of the season) than the others considering their strategy.
In 2017, after two rallyes (MC and Sweden), JML was the championship leader
Loeb showing his talent.
I feel the ford could be the best car out of the box here.
