Probably for the best. Not sure that the current France Family members are really into the racing as much as Bill Sr. and Bill Jr. were.
Rumor has it that Brian France was heard doing a mean Rick James impersonation a few days ago, saying (slurring), "Cocaine is a helluva drug, boys"... right as the cops slid him into the back of the police car. Another rumor (also created by yours truly just now) says that he called Martin Truex, Jr. to bail him out of jail. But by the time Martin stopped laughing, the guards had already taken Brian back to his cell. Karma be a beotch, eh, Brian? :D

This is an interesting development:

The goal, according to a news release, is to combine ISC and NASCAR as one privately run group of companies run entirely by the France family.
NASCAR has submitted a non-binding cash offer of $42.00 per share to acquire all outstanding shares of common stock of ISC not already owned by the controlling shareholders of NASCAR. As of Friday afternoon, ISC stock closed at $39.06 per share.
Bloomberg reported Friday that the NASCAR offer was worth approximately $1.9 billion.
Looks like they are trying to keep it all, or as much as they can, within the family. Maybe the whole package (series and tracks) would be more appealing to a buyer.
I hope its for the best. Does anyone is interested?
