Indeed, this Grifone-Esso livery wins it hands down for me!

This is not legit... It's a Ford promo. Don't remember where I read about it but there are some details that you can see in the photo that I've also forgotten what they were. It ain't genuine though.
Edit remembered one of the things... The light pod is blocking the air intake for what I believe was the intercooler for starters...
I know nobody but me liked it but this is my favorite;

The works Peugeot 205 group B are pretty nice too.
This is a very old thread that you revived Jarek ;)
Apparently it was used by Essex police in 1986, according to a couple of websites. Roadgoing version was only 230 brake, don't know if that meant different size, or mounting of intercooler, wouldn't need as much flow as a full on rally spec car.
Edit: ford press release

The Italians were masters on this field! Besides the already mentioned Alitalia and Martini iconic liveries, Lancia and Fiat factory cars always looked great, from the 131 blue stripes to the Stratos Pirelli or even the last Delta Repsol. Satellite teams cars also used to look gorgeous; besides the mentioned Grifone Esso, Jolly Club ToTip or Tre Gazelle West liveries were also great, among many others, including the stunning early 80’s Olio Fiat, seen here on a MAT 308 replica:

PS: besides the Italians, we shouldn’t forget Belgian Bastos livery, especially sharp on Snyers M3.
Oh yes, Tabaton, Longhi and Loubet... Those were the days! I love this livery since the very first day when I saw it in the Rally of Poland in the early nineties.
