Azores Rally
Decision to cancel rally “was taken together”
Eurosport Events coordinator says Azores Rallye is not at risk in the ERC and maintains confidence in the GDC
The decision to cancel the Azores Rallye 2020 was taken by Grupo Desportivo Comercial (GDC) in conjunction with Eurosport Events (EE), says the general coordinator of the promoter of the European Rally Championship (ERC), the Frenchman Jean- Baptiste Ley.
Speaking to the Açoriano Oriental, Ley acknowledges the “incredible work” that the GDC did to try to save the rally and that EE followed the process closely.
“Eurosport Events and GDC have been in close contact since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis: first when we had to postpone the rally from March to September; and then during all the days of the pandemic. We jointly decided to wait until the last moment to make this difficult decision to cancel the rally, ”he said.
A definite point for the person responsible for the ERC is the continuation of the Azores rally on the calendar, stating that “the cancellation of Azores Rallye 2020 does not jeopardize future collaboration with the ERC, as EE and GDC are linked by a contract of three years". This contract is maintained until 2022, but it is “extensible”, he adds.
On the recent controversy between 'Comercial' and the Portuguese Federation of Motoring and Karting (FPAK), which, through its president Ni Amorim, accused the GDC of lack of transparency and of having canceled the rally for financial reasons, Jean-Baptiste Ley puts water on the boil and points out that “GDC, FPAK and EE did their best to manage this unprecedented crisis. All parties tried to help with the situation and I would like to pay tribute to Rui Moniz, who was the one who faced all the difficulties ”.
The Frenchman responsible for the European rally says that the relationship with the GDC president remains "very strong and reliable, despite the difficulties".

Bad news... :(
@AlexeyLukyanuk:
By the way, this is the last event for which we have enough budget. Now we have a second round of searching for partners.
Hungary is about a month away, during which we need to close the financial hole. So, if this doesn’t happen, there is a great chance of not going anywhere else..

Lindholm disqualified of Liepaja

Yes, it says team MRF Tyres, but there isn't anything mentioned of Breen's car. They apparently took fuel example of Lindholm's car and that was found illegal by the examinating labo. I see that Gardemeister appealed against this decision. There is no talk about Breen's car.
