Here is the official website of the Rally: ::::::: 20. Veszprém Rallye :::::::
There is also an entry list: https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=h...1372262836.pdf
At the end of the supplementary regulations, You can find the itinerary! Three of the 4 stages are good quality gravel!
Thanks for the info, i look forward to see how he goes there, he did pretty well in Italy so will be interesting to see how he compares .
I see there are a number of ex WRC cars entered, this will make a good result a bit more difficult.
FYI Henk is only 19 and this will be only the 2nd time he will write his own notes on Recce.
Very nice rally, with some sections with big jumps coming one after another :)
it was 2008 ther. fnatstic rally with the big special stage near the service area. but i think they didnt drive this stage in the last years!?
Yes You're right! That stage missed in the last years, now it returns refreshed. Service moved to nearby Arena Veszprem. Other 3 stages are mixed with fast sections and narrow forest sections. One stage of these has a downward tarmac section at the end, with 6-7 hairpins.Quote:

Fri, thanks for the link.
I chatted to Henk earlier in the week, from what he said the stages sound quite similar to the Rally we have here next weekend in Port Elizabeth, so is a very good preparation for our own NRC round.
I have never heard anything about rallying in Hungary so will be very interesting to compare his times.
here you can find a video from 2011:
: : RallySport.hu - 18. Veszprém Rally 2011 : :
and from 2010:
17. Prince Veszprém Rally - YouTube
The footage confirms what he said. Lets see how he goes.
Henk got a 3rd overall, about 30 sec off the lead. Sounds like he had a bad road position on the friday and struggled with dust.
Overall a very good performance.
Henk Lategan is a protégé of Raimund Baumschlager and his Austrian BRR-Team, like Chris Brugger.Quote:

Citroën officially enters the 2019 hungarian championship
Who's the driver(György Balkanyi)?? I don't know his former results/performances
http://www.rallysport.hu/info/2019/0...szezonelo.html
Edit: on Duen they seem to write apparently the driver will be Valenczei Adam :mark:
http://www.duen.hu/hirek/a_citroen_a...an_ter_vissza/
Adam Velenczei will be driver with Gabor Zsiros co-driving.
Gyorgy Balkanyi is a team manager/member.
Yes, he was Bútor's team manager from the early 2000s when they used the Saxo Kit Car in the importer team, then later managed the Peugeot Hungaria supported teams. All in all a good thing, as since Skoda left with Herczig, there wasn't really an importer supported team here. Hopefully they can do well and even win a rally or two (Velenczei hasn't won yet, so let's see how he will be doing...)
Vincze won Miskolc Rallye. Velenczei would be in the battle with Vincze and Turán for the victory but he lost nearly three minutes on SS5.
1. Vincze (Fabia R5) 1:21:13,7
2. Turán (Fiesta R5) +14,6 (10 sec jump start on SS1)
3. Német (Fabia R5) +1:28,2
4. Balogh (Fabia R5) +1:46,4
5. Dudás (Evo IX R4) +2:51,1
6. Trencsényi (Fabia R5) +2:58,7
7. Velenczei (C3 R5) +3:06,3
8. Osváth (Fabia R5) +3:24,2 (10 sec pen.)
9. Lencse (Fiesta R5) +3:45,6
10. Maricsek (Evo IX R4) +3:47,6
Sensational entry list in the first round of 2020 Hungarian Rally Championship! I can see 173 entries and no sign of corona-crisis at all :)

Judging from the photo below and two press releases he has been using Hankook tyres for a long time:

Today there was the traditional gravel Mikulás Rallye held in Hungary with some interesting foreign guests (Cais, Neubauer, Martin Semerád or Koči). One stage was canceled because an old artillery shell was dug out of the road  Semerád started with Mirage Proto and finished second among non-R5 cars (behind Hevesi with gr.A Evo IV) and Koči won 2WD with Fiesta Rally4.
1. Turán (Polo R5) 49:30,5
2. Cais (Fiesta R5 Mk.II) +13,7

WHAT ????? Mads Östberg will be Citroën Hungary driver this season ????
http://www.duen.hu/hirek/vilagbajnok...ndit_a_citroen
Unexpected
Random, but glad to see him gainfully employed! There are too few opportunities for professional rally drivers.
So, Hungarian calendar was changed and now another event - Salgo Rally collides with WRC round (Sardinia).
Kopecký for Topp Cars team in Hungarian championship. Confirmed by himself.
https://scontent.fprg1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...f0&oe=608EFE31
Surprise re: Kopecky! On Pirelli too i see which will be a change for him..
Where is all this money for rallying coming from all of a sudden, especially during a pandemic and economic recession resulting? Great entries in Italy, Ostberg & Kopecky in Hungary, ERC potentially not looking too bad either..
Petr Semerád will probably drive in Hungarian championship too.
Because there is lack of events. So everybody is trying to start anywhere possible...
And I think on first round it will not be only about Ostberg and Kopecky ;)
Gryazin will also start
