The last stage is almost completely on tarmac and likely much faster. Will someone try going back to wets?
Guess we have to be thankful we got the weather we did!
Without it, these stages would become boring as f*ck very quickly i reckon. The treacherous conditions have made it really exciting - much better than I was expecting.
Totally agree, though listening to Julian Porter earlier, I fear the the WRC bubble/promoter will consider this event a tremendous success and want to see it copied elsewhere, because it'll make their life even easier... The short events were already a problem, now I can see them falling down the same hole as WRX. See you at sunny Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in October 2021...
This was my thought too as soon as it got announced. For hosting VIPs there's nothing that can beat it. Luckily they have various contracts in place next year so we'll see what happens. It could be a more cost-effective way of adding an extra round if it's paired with an existing traditional event.
Another Bulletin and 2 extra snow tyres for P1 drivers.
Imo that's a bit unfair at this point, unless they were told before one or two last stages. Cause when Lappi took them it was clearly a gamble that he might not need them so much tomorrow.
Another thing is that they by now added 2 wet and 2 snow tires for WRC and nothing for WRC2/3 at all.
