Seems like the same route as 2020 should have had, but Amarante is back to full length. Porto - Foz is a new super special?
wow Saturday will be hell of a day, shortest stage 20km and longest 37km
i really hope this rally goes ahead, one of my favourites...although this year im not that really afraid about the cancellation of the rallies.
The stage lengths are quite curiously set, all Saturday stages are longer than Sunday and Friday, and all Sunday stages are longer than Friday and Saturday (except super specials of course)
Following an impressive debut @croatia_rally we can confirm that @AdrienFourmaux will be back behind the wheel of the EcoBoost-powered Ford Fiesta WRC @rallydeportugal. Our Flying Finn @TeemuSuninenRac will return to the wheel of the top-specification Fiesta @Rally_d_Italia #WRC

Too early for Fourmaux to drive WRC on gravel IMO, given his very little experience on it and no real results either. (unlike tarmac)
Then again if it's just a test how it goes then why not. Provided they have realistic expectations and follow up plans for getting gravel experience without running out of money.
What if the ammount of money is fixed and he could do 2 or 3 rallies in Rally2 instead? (maybe it isn't)
Another thing is that in WRC there sometimes isn't anyone to compare with (only comparing to top drivers can be frustrating). I guess there will be Loubet, Greensmith and Katsuta in Portugal though.
I wouldnt be surprised if Red Bull sponsorship paid for more rounds in the WRC car after the great publicity Fourmaux gave them in Croatia.

AF: "I’m really looking forward to experiencing this car on gravel and will work hard to learn as much as I can and really make the most of the experience. I’m so grateful to M-Sport and Red Bull for this opportunity."

@OliverSolberg01 will make his debut in WRC2 at @rallydeportugal while @OCVeiby will continue his campaign after a 5th place at the Arctic @RallyFinland
! They will drive the i20 R5 & score points for Hyundai Motorsport N in the Teams' championship!
So we now have (semi) confirmed in WRC2: Østberg, Mikkelsen, Solberg, Suninen, Lappi (and Veiby).
Basically only Huttunen and Fourmaux missing from the WRC2 "competitors". (Dunno about Gryazin)
Nice. Let's hope punctures/technical issues don't play too big role. There will likely be some road-cleaning but then again in WRC2 leading car drives first on saturday/sunday so it should compensate first day.

Nice entry list, especially in WRC 2 and WRC 3.
Used to be that EVEN (Veiby) was categorically against paying for a drive, even to the point of (seemingly) dropping Tidemand cause he disagreed with that.
Yet now EVEN is the main "sponsor" color on the car. Change of mind?
The level of cost is lower on a WRC2 entry compared to Tidemand’s WRC efforts.
So it looks like, after much speculation, the rally will be held with spectators. There is some fine tuning to do as Arganil, for example, will likely be under sanitary closure. I would also imagine the SSS will be scrapped.
Regarding our borders, due too the increasing numbers of cases in Spain, there are some discussions to close the border during the week.
We should have more news next week.
Ex Chelsea manager AVB on the entry list lol!!
One less stage. Montim will be done 1 time only in sunday.
Hello everyone, I'm planning my third visit to Portugal (second in the north). Finally yesterday the itinerary and the stages were shown, I have found them in some webs where you can download for maps or earth, but does any of you know if the access to the ZE have been published, or when they will be? thanks in advance.
and also a last question for those who were there in 2019 (more or less same stages), did you manage to see two stages in the same loop, i think in this years friday afternoon it's doable because they are adding mortagua at the end of friday, but what do you think about friday morning, or saturday?
Otherwise if I can help anybody with some doubts don't hesitate to ask!

The 2020 route is used this year with slight updates. Two new forest stages, one new street stage. Saturday is grueling with 165 stage kilometres, it will be tough on the tyres!
Tested positive for COVID-19, A.Mikkelsen has withdrawn from the @rallydeportugal! It should normally return to @Rally_d_Italiawith his team @toksportwrt

Explains why he wasn't on the Toksport test.
Besides being bad for him it's also bad for the WRC2 fight as this was probably the rally with most competition this year. (only Huttunen and Fourmaux missing). Already in Sardinia Lappi, Suninen and Solberg are missing.

It will mean he has to do another later rally when he wanted to do all his events early (and then maybe hire a WRC Car to get ready for a 2022 seat).
He was in close contact with OC Veiby all last week in Marbella.
I wonder what this means for him for Rally Portugal.....
Has anyone heard from him?!
Mikkelsen about covid

Not suprising. Dude could not stand in one place more than 5 minutes.Travelled and partied more in six months than regular british alco tourist in his life.
Evidence of partying in last 6 months? As to traveling check Neuvilles schedule (random example that was also on Targa Florio).
