Toyota drivers and Neuville the only ones who have won this event. Yesterday and the day before seemed to be quite rainy and chill judging by the pictures i saw on twitter.
Its gonna rain heavily before friday.
My favourite for the win is Tänak, but it's again down to the durability of the car. Also I would predict that Ogier and Neuville will be the closest rivals. Maybe Evans also with his good pace in 2017 and the previous rallies? Meeke also probably fast but will he make it to the finish without mistakes and/or punctures? The weather will also play an interesting role. Heavy rains could make the roads rougher and the river crossings more tricky, even if it wouldn't rain during the rally.
Out of the top 3 Tanak is indeed a favorite due to road position + last year win, Ogier never won here and drives a different car, Neuville will likely clean the road (as long as it doesn't rain all the time).
Outside of these it's actually very hard to guess the performance, there are quite many drivers that will have extra focus on them for different reasons:
Evans - will he confirm the Corsica form and bounce back from his bad 2018 performance in Argentina (after great 2017 on DMACKs)?
Meeke - 6-6-5-9 is not exactly a great record, even though points (in part due to PS) are good, now it's time to start getting some results without issues
Lappi - only had competitive speed in 1 out of 4 rallies and 2 crashes/retirements
Latvala - has basically the worst season of all fulltime drivers, also only competitive in 1 rally but not even scoring points there, Corsica had to be an alltime low with no speed and 2 punctures on top
Suninen- after a disastrous start of season Corsica was very good (considering first time in WRC), will he continue on that or go back to crashing?
Mikkelsen - was fighting in top 3 on all rallies he drove so far, which is nice, but 2 retirements out of 3 are terrible, needs to get to finish even at a "risk" of a worse finish. But finishing worse than 5th is too bad.
Sordo is about the only driver without any real pressure on him.
Monday wrc2 test, nice passes from Bulacia
