Perhaps they would have, honestly dont know. The Fridays part with Evans was a complete joke for the most marginal of gains. Teemu, being a fin at his home rally, being faster then Ogier for the whole rally is another joke but that at least makes some sense.
I think it is at part understandable if for example Evans and Ogier would be going to the last stage with a few seconds time gap and the team suggesting to Evans to not give his all on the last stage. But the way they are playing it...
So in space of one weekend, Ogier has gotten new parts to the car that none of his teammates got, was let past by Evans just waiting at the finish line for several seconds. (Evans knowing since end of Friday that he is not allowed to race, so just having to stroll around for 2 days) and now Teemu having to go late to time control and having to step off in the power stage so he would not let Ogier get past. Bravo!
Next step they send no3 car ahead of Neuville to create some dust infront of him to slowdown.
No I don't think Hyundai would be swapping drivers for 5th instead of 6th on the road (Evans on friday). I do think Hyundai would swap them in the overall standings at the end of rally though.
Btw. in Mexico both Sordo and Mikkelsen were ahead of Neuville and in Sweden Mikkelsen was ahead on PS.
I really hoped M-Sport imply orders to Suninen, just to read all that bullshit. Keep them coming.
Slo-mo Neuville jump
