A couple of new names in the ERC3 category, including the current leader of Junior WRC Championship, Romet Jürgenson:

Free Practice showed a lot how important is starting order and cleaning in Estonia...
Shakedown should be LIVE here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsvTOjHzIWw
Quite challenging conditions:)

So many good drivers and in almost equal cars. Its anyone's rally. Awesome stuff.
I have been numerous times in Estonia (from early Mad-Croc days), you know its gone be close battle and with weather conditions this weekend... pure joy.
Too sad I didnt have time to visit Otepaa this year, but oh well its always next year. Enjoy the rally everyone, especially guys who are spectating @ the stages.
McRae did only one run, second best time. but he didnt did the other 2 shakedown runs.
hope its not a car problem
Dang... so close to a first ERC stage win for Jon Armstrong !
Hayden lost a lot on SS 2 due to water leak from radiator after heavy landing. On the other side he had big luck on SS 3 when he was one of the last drivers driving on mostly dry road, heavy rain cames after.
Pretty interesting rally so far, with weather playing big part
Tänak rolled btw

Urmo Aava who was there after the crash and talked with Ott said that something (differential??)was not right with the car. Didnt want to speculate too much before Ott talks to media himself.
Notes and driving line were right.
oooouuuchhh, that looked hard! ah man, i really wish he were on a R5 for this round :/
it looks Latvala will be in one for rally finland! thats so cool!
seems nobody cares about this rally, 2 pages of posts, lol
Better action than some WRC events.
Superb stuff.
PS delayed?
Edit: tree fallen on road. Del 15 minutes.
There's not really been so much to discuss.
The top ERC regulars / contenders either went off, struggled badly or had damage and lost time from early on.
The main battle was just between two locals, neither of whom are doing the ERC Season.
Also Tanak's big crash mystery distracted us on the first day.
Linnamae with super performance at power stage won.
Insane win!
what a PS stage from Linnamäe, im actually surprised he managed to do the rally with this pace without the mistakes.
But more credit to Virves, his seat time with the machine is nothing compared to Linnamäe and his budget.
I was watching the whole rally through results, live and tracking. And I must say it is better to be on site than follow it only through computer. Few times I came also here, but as there were no messages, there was nothing to discuss.
But generally it was nice rally with nice fights on all positions. And it showed how important is starting order. Bad QS can ruin your chances for good result.
And weather changes were also very important this year. Switching from sunny to rain conditions just before start of QS and also before Power Stage...
I was away from computers but followed it from phone.
I have a bit of mixed feelings - was it a really impressive drive and fight from Linnamäe and Virves or did all ERC regulars underperform? At the moment I take the first option. I'm clad that both reach the finish. From getting the funding for next starts, it would be better when Virves got the win.
the best video of Tanak's crash, insane

Previous four years of Rally2 clasification have been won by current and former Rally1/WRC drivers. Only in 2020 was there a local guy on the virtual podium (wrc2+3).
I'am not saying that say Katsuta would instantly fight in top in Rally2 car, but with some preparation most current Rally1 drivers would.

Why was Sesks so "slow" this time? Only 14th overall? Not a single stage win?
https://rally-base.com/crew-profile/...91&ssGroupId=1
I was at the regrouping and Sesks and Mabellinis tires almost always looked like new when they came back, whereas Michelin and Pirellis both were quit worn on all competitors so I guess the compound MRF had at the event was just way too hard and they both had low grip, on the dry stages they were alot closer than on the wet/damp stages
