Ostberg not starting, couldn't get a car deal.
https://www.autohebdo.fr/actualites/...tberg.html/ampQuote:
Appearing on the entry list, Mads Ostberg was due to make his return to the WRC in Chile. Absent since Catalunya 2021, the 2020 WRC2 world champion was in negotiations with the Heller family to have a Citroën C3 Rally2, but it was not possible to find common ground.
Alberto Heller (the 2022 Chilean Rally Mobil RC2 champion) will drive an M-Sport Ford Puma Rally1.
The WRC2 class will feature Oliver Solberg, Gus Greensmith and Kajetan Kajetanowicz, plus Chilean Rally Mobil regulars Jorge Martínez, Pedro Heller, Emilio Rosselot, Gerardo Rosselot, Martín Scuncio, Germán Lyon, Emilio Fernández and Benjamín Israel.

So many comparisons to other rallies - New Zealand, Wales, Finland - but Rally Chile looks amazing in it's own right !

Beautiful. Makes me want to visit Chile which is exactly the point of hosting a world championship sporting event!
Also looking forward to Chile in the upcoming EA Sports WRC game, as I am a 35-year-old child :D
Looks like there could be a lot of road cleaning, if most of the stages resemble the pics ive seen from Reece. Especially in the open stages on Friday due to the high winds
I have a good feeling about Tänak and Puma this week
lets see if it comes true
I agree! I was very critical of the "pointless" new round considering plenty of classics are missing from the calendar but I ended up liking it a lot in 2019 because it was just beautiful to watch and I kind of developed a new appreciation for rallying as a window to watch the world. If you are used to see the same landscape in Finland Portugal, Spain,.... since you are a child you forget about that aspect of rallying.
Don´t forget your Pickems...
Only 24 hrs before closing time of Rally Chile. 1330 CEST tomorrow Friday. SS1 starts at 1335 hrs CEST.
Any info about Kalle's third run? 40sec. down
Lovely turn out and atmosphere for the ceremonial start from what ive seen/ heard from a mate who was there. Men, women and kids full of passion for the sport and drivers. Shame we cant keep/have all of Chile,Argentina,Mexico in the championship.
However, its an absolute joke not even at least 1 car from each team could do a burnout/launch for a few secs or even rev the car after the interview ramp. Give the fans who have waited hours in chilly conditions at least some sort of spectacle, instead of all 3 cars for each team bleeping down the road like some sort of annoying alarm clock.
Amazing indeed https://x.com/dirtfishrally/status/1...C1kV5QC61vX5Xg
Chile is a must in the calendar for me. Drivers love it, Amazing stages, and just look at the passion of fans

Any information on road conditions for Friday? Dry/Wet? Kalle as roadsweeper will lose a lot?
It depends if there is moisture in the top surface. Shakedown did and Kalle/Elfyn probably had the best road for the first pass, then it starts to break up and gets slower, then finally it will clean and get faster again.
I was a bit neutral about this rally but so far what i've seen of the roads is winning me over! Also convenient watching times in the afternoon, gives me time to watch MotoGP in the mornings hehe, getting ready for a great weekend :)
Good first split for Ott
Usual Friday struggle for Neuville...
No grip at all, that is what he says
Ott 10 sec faster as Kalle
Yes Ott, great start !
Tänak!!!
Great stage
TANAK COMMENT
"Stage is fun but extremely demanding. Can't really say feeling comfortable in the car, for sure would like to improve a lot."
lol
