Looking at the possibility of going out to a watch Rally Croatia in April. Any tips from people who managed to go last year? Thanks
I was there last year. Traveling was very limited at the time, with many countries having their borders basically shut. There were a ton of spectators, while very few from abroad. When we left from SS1 to another, last year, the line of cars was over 7kms long.
What I can say: if the entry is for free again, you might see the biggest spectator chaos in history of modern rallying. Most stages don't have many ways of access. There's not much recommendations or tips to give right now. I'm waiting for the itinerary as well. I comparison to last year think it might change a lot for better safety management, maybe less stages near Karlovac.
7km...sounds like the old RAC days. Hope they do make some changes then
It's still only a bit more than two months until the rally, the route should be published soon? They already put out the RG1 with no itinerary unlike most rallies.
Supplementary Regulations (and the opening of entries) will be published next Monday (21st). By then we will know the schedule and itinerary.
Basically most stages carry over from 2021. Two stages from 2021 Friday moved to Saturday, three stages from 2021 Saturday moved to Friday. Same power stage, new opening Sunday stage. New stage on Saturday to replace the one where Rovanperä crashed. New shakedown. Length is a bit less than last year.
I'm coming :)
Solberg on third Hyundai.
Hey Guys. Anybody got experience with acces road to Jarušje village on stage Mali Lipovec last year (in the middle of the stage??? Looks like gravel road on google maps.
Judging by the route one needs a car to watch this rally or would it be possible to watch the odd stage with public transport only?
Kazakhstan rally-raid is cancelled; may open an opportunity for Loeb in Croatia even if I don’t know if M-Sport is already able to provide 5 cars at the same time.

The Platak stage will have a spectator area in the middle with artificial jump and donut
Entry list is out:)
Gryazin in start list..? Forgot to remove?
12 rally3 fiestas!!
Not a single Norwegian flag.
12 Rally3 Fiestas (as already mentioned)
Osamu Fukunaga is probably the most "random" entry so far this year.
On a personal note, great to see Loubet again!
The new Trakoscan stage. The first half is very wide and smooth, will be very fast

Hello everyone, I have created a map of Rally Croatia 2022 including tips for spectators.

Hello Rally Croatia fans. I'm looking for someone to share the spectating on the rally, either to tag along with an existing group or plan our own itinerary. I'm staying in Zagreb for the duration...have rental car...speak Croatian. PM me and let's see if we can work something out. In any case, should be a superb show......see you on the stages!
If I buy tickets for the "Fanzone Novigrad na Dobri" can we only spectate the two passes of that stage? Is it restricted where you can watch? The official site doesn't really help me.
Inside the Fan Zone, I'd say yes. Of course you can always go to other places, not designated as Fan Zones.
Some Fan Zones may have dedicated parking zones though, all a bit confusing at the moment.
Anyway, can't wait for the show :)
Thank you, guess we'll try to sneak through the woods. Don't really fancy being boxed in at a rally.
Don´t forget Pickems, guys!
Difficult to predict what's going to happen. In Monte we saw that Hyundais are a bit behind on dry tarmac, but have they progressed? Evans is the favourite but he has a bad starting position on Friday, while conversely Rovanperä is the one with only a bad experience from the rally but the best starting position. Breen and Fourmaux could be strong as well.
Also, we could have some rain on Friday

While I think Breen and Fourmaux could have very good pace I just don't see either putting together top times on every stage and winning the rally right now. I think Evans is favourite giving his pace here last year and Rovanperä possibly second favourite. But as you say AnttiL the big question mark is the Hyundai and whether that brings Neuville and Tanak into contention.
For me the clear favorite is Neuville. He lost the win last year due the wrong tyre choice on Saturday. And he has a excellent starting position on Friday while Evans starts far from back. Even so cause we have a high possibility for rain and we saw last year how dirty the roads can get. The only question about Neuville is the car but I’m sure this time Hyundai is more prepared than for Monte.
Rovanperä, Breen and Tänak are interesting to follow. Kalle has no experience from this apart from couple of kilometers. Breen and Tänak were struggling massively last year with the previous generation Hyundai. Interesting to see how they will do now with the new machines.
Lappi hasn’t been on tarmac for ages. How will he do?
Gonna be a interesting rally I’m sure. Can’t wait already
I think Evans here will not go directly for the win because if he makes another 0 it will destroy chances for WDC almost completely.
From last year recce I remember (it was much more wet dirt on cuts than later on rally) this roads became even more slippery in case of wet pollution (but already in dry is sooo slippy), so in case of rain in Friday first numbers will have big advantage, but + for crews is that first 2 long stages in friday loop are probably the best of whole rally regarding grip and not so much cutting (especially second one).
I will be present on thursday shakedown, later service park, evening ceremonial start and 2 stages on friday, so if anyone here for some meet, just feel free to contact :)
If you are going to spectate, I can recommend you totake warm clothes. Today it was really cold weather, with cold wind and rain during later afternoon here in Zagreb...
