The Rally Islas Canarias (Gran Canaria) opens registration period.
The teams will have until April 17 to formalize their registration for this event of the FIA European Rally Championship, the Spanish Super Rally Championship and the Spanish Rally Championship of Asphalt. The organizer has already published all the details of his tour.
The 43rd edition of the Canary Islands Rally is definitely underway with the opening this Monday, February 18 of the registration period. In this way, the teams of the different contests that meet in this test, may already process their registration, although the term will last until April 17. In 2019, the race repeats in the calendar of the FIA European Rally Championship (FIA ERC), the Spanish Rally Championship of Asphalt (CERA) and the new Supercampeonato de España de Rallies (S-CER), in addition to maintaining its score for the Canary Islands Championship of Asphalt Rallies and for the Provincial Championship of Las Palmas de Rallies.
The Organizing Committee has also published in its final round in which, as it was advanced weeks ago, the teams are challenged with a total of 16 special stages, eight in the first stage on Friday, May 3 and another eight in the second on Saturday, May 4th. As major developments must be put in value that the municipality of Valsequillo is the new headquarters of the Qualifying Stage and the Shakedown and the addition of Valleseco in a second day especially demanding in terms of number of specials compared to the average of the rest of editions.

Some driver or drivers are using Printsport (Finland) machinery.
They are looking for truckdriver to deliver MB Atego + Trailer to Canary.
They have Polo R5, Fabia R5, Evo X and 208 R2, so it could be what so ever...
Could be Finnish or foreign driver.
The Rally Islas Canarias is next
Do you think that there may be new additions to the ERC from Gran Canaria?
Maybe Eyvind Brynildsen.
Any more pilot?
Erik Cais will skip Canarias due to his school leaving exams.
I really hope his 3rd place o/a and 1st in Junior U28 on the Azores will help Ingram find a sponsor to get him to Canarias.

Alexey Arnautov to drive the C3R5 in @RIslasCanarias with @AlexeyLukyanuk as co-driver after he broke his arm on a skateboard 😬
"This is the opportunity of a life-time", Arnautov explains. I'm confident I can be as quick as him...but he will have to work hard on the pace-notes."
Haha..
If there are not enough Polos R5 then the S2000 version is still available somewhere, look at number 22 ;)

Another Polo R5 joins the 'Islas Canarias'
Teo Martín Motorsport has announced the acquisition of a new Volkswagen Polo R5. It will be the first to arrive in our country, where it plans to land next April 12.
Although they have not yet revealed the team that is going to climb the Volkswagen Polo R5, they have announced their program. Will be in the new Supercampeonato de España, starting in the second of his appointments, the Rally Islas Canarias. In this way, the island of Gran Canaria ensures the presence of one of the vehicles that is giving more to speak in the category.
The squad that directs Teo Martín has indicated that they will play some other test outside the S-Cer "with the aim of improving the tuning and adaptation of the car to the Spanish sections."
"The rallies have always been one of my passions and I am proud to have a team competing in the Spanish Super Rally Championship with Volkswagen, the objective is to fight for the title with the Polo R5, a great car with which we are sure to celebrate many successes, "said the owner of the team, Teo Martín.

Looks like it will be the only Fiesta R5 running in Gran Canaria...
Finnish driver Miika Hokkanen will start his ERC3 season in Gran Canaria. He'll start with a new co-driver Rami Suorsa. They will drive Spanish Mavisa Sport's Peugeot 208 R2. I don't know what other events they'll do, but the plan is to do more.
Roland Stengg - Adam R2
Pedro Paixao - Fabia R5
Any news about Eyvind Brynildsen?
Albert von Thurn und Taxis - Skoda Fabia R5
Rumours in Gran Canaria about entry list. Looks like there are more than 100 registered and about 35 R5.
Entries deadline will be tomorrow day 17.
I really expect about 26-30 R5.
For me 35 R5, perhaps it is a optimist number.
i saw video of him testing with fabia at BRR twitter

BRR has both so maybe after the rather bitter experience from Azores they decided for the safe option until the issues are solved.
Will we see R4 cars in Canary Islands?
Probably more a question of availability than technical conspiracy theories. If BRR has 3 Polo R5 and one car is overseas for Kajetanowicz for WRC Argentina and WRC Chile only two Polos are left for Herczig and probably Griebel.
I am guessing that the R4s will not start until the series are done with the island rounds.
