Anyone who has some experience with this event? Things to do/avoid when it comes to watching the stages? I'm coming to Poland for the first time, just booked fLight and accommodation... :)
In general nice event, nice to watch! Some traffic jams possible, also a lot of walking, as car parks far away from stages. That's what people say, as I was working during that event for last 5 or over years so didn't visit any stages in last couple of years. If you need any more info PM me.
Avoid driving through Mikoajki between stages, if u have to, remember there are huge traffic jams so give yourself some extra time. Talking about accommodation, last year locals weren't very aware of rally so u could easily get nice place in normal prices even few days before start. This year may be little different but still nothing to worry about. And Mikolajki is not the best place to sleep because of those traffic jams. I'll do the same as last year, take my tent and sleep on stages :) that's the way to feel beauty of Warmia and Mazury

Are there any roads left?? ;)
I have to say, that there are some roads, maybe 1 or 2 on every special stage. They are closing roards 3 hours before start, but Baranowo will be closed on 6 p.m at Saturday, be prepared for that. They are checking rally passes only on official accesses to the stages and on spectator areas. You can use google maps to find other routes, but there can be more closed roads than on official maps. Rally fans in Poland are really angry and shamed for this situation. I'll try to help you with acces to the stages. Anyone are planing to attend Rally Poland?
I'm going to attend Rally Poland, Hubertos. All help is welcome. And of course, if possible, I will return the favor and help you if necessary. ;)
To close so many acess roads is brutal for spectators....

Guys, these "no-go" access roads are for real? I remember that there was quite a lot of them in last year's maps as well, but I don't really remember whether we used them or not.
everyone visiting Rally Poland this year please visit me in service for short chat! PM for details where to find me
You have to know that, SS and routes to the stages were blocked 3 hours before start of the stage. Last year there was less blocked roates than this year.
https://www.youtube.com/user/rajdpolski Officials published movies and photos form spectators areas. I think that is is joke and disgrace for rally fans. This places are weak as hell. But Mr Mahonen will be very pleased because rally will be very safe...
Is it possible to walk elsewhere?
From my experience in rally sardinia I've learned that spectators areas are the least place I will go to watch a rally: people were 20 meters from the road in a straight after a jonction, even 50-80 meters from the junction. It doesn't make sesne. Luckily it was possible to freely go on other spots where if you stayed away from dangerous places you could enjoy the show.
Will this be the case of Poland? Or will it be like Portugal?
From my experience I know that you can go wherever you want to. Marshalls may do some things to keep you in spectator area, but if you don't walk by road they can't do anything. No one give you a ticket if you won't be in that area. They are checking rally passes only in spectators areas.
Well it seems you are fine then...You just have to avoid spectator zones and walk for some kms more than usual. It is tiring at the end of the day but passion will give you the energy ;)
Thanks for the thread - provided some much needed information.
About blocked roads - here is the answer from organizers about my question:
So guess, will need to play stealth game or get along with provided spectator spots.Quote:
Dear Sir,
Thank you for your e-mail and interest in 72nd Rally Poland.
The marked local roads will be closed down due to safety policy and protecting the Rally from unauthorised access.
In this case, they should not be accessed at all.
For the best views, we advise you to buy tickets (prices starting at only 35PLN) and attend the Rally in specially selected spectator zones.
We look forward to see you at the Rally!
With kind regards,

Hello!
I have question, regarding access roads for special stages. In maps,
published in your website, many roads have marked with "no entry"
sign. It is forbidden to access those roads only by car or also on
foot?
Martin
This is not an official statement, they can't forbid you to attent this places. They are telling that this for safety reasons. F****** bullshit. They have no right to ban this places, they are just making rally easier for them. No people = no problem at all. I think if world rallies will come that way, soon we won't have many people on special stages. Staying in "great" spectator areas is as boring as watching nowadays F1.
