Entry list has been published: http://www.rallye-sport.fr/liste-eng...e-france-2014/
A bit less than 100 entries. Impressive. And it's on all tarmac rounds that there's so many crews. A message for WRC ?
Simply a FANTASTIC entrylist !!!
bad WRC2
good WRC3 with Clio R3T (and others with R3T Clio)
good Delecour and Dumas with Porsche
Same phenomena could have been observed in IRC/ERC. Asphalt rounds have almost always more entries. The two most-popular events of this season Barum and Ypres are asphalt too.
The reason is in fact simple. Large majority of European rallies is held on asphalt roads. Therefore most of the teams have only asphalt parts for their cars (those are cheaper as well). Competing on other surfaces is a huge oncost for them.
Great to see Abbring on the list, wonder who's paying for that ride.

So, why aren't there more Tarmac rounds?
Looking forward to a return to France,, Hope to keep her shiny side up this time !!!
My wise and learned comrade Mirek, I think you mean large majority of CONTINENTAL European rallies are on asphalt....
There are whole countries up North that don't have a single asphalt event...several whole countries.
And are you sure 330mm discs and 6 pot calipers cost less?
Could be just human history...The big asphalt countries have all been densely settled for 2000 years, these other places still are not..
Dense settlement means its cost effective to pave roads.
And dense settlement means bigger pool of drivers top draw entries from.
Could be that simple.
Well, that's disappointing:

It would be nice entry.
Is Dumas competing though?
Francois Delecour back in

FRANÇOIS DELECOUR WILL BE AT THE RALLY FRANCE-ALSACE!
Contrary to what has been spreading over the internet, François Delecour will be at the start of the Rally France-Alsace. The organizational crew has confirmed the participation of the Frenchman ..
Awesome! Hope for good onboards.
Providing FD gets further than he did on the Monte there might be ;). We noticed he spent a lot more time in the service park taking phone calls and looking French than he did at the wheel of the Fiesta.
Simple - some people make a career out of their 'style' If we are looking at national stereotypes then François is quintessentially Gallic. Every shrug and gesture shouts 'Je m'en balance' just to look at him you'd know he is French in a way that Loeb and Ogier do not
Why Christian Riedemann forfait in JWRC in France ??? :(
According to today's issue of Motorsport Monday Henning Solberg has withdrawn his entry for France. No reason is given.
Maybe he needs time to go party with his brother

What are the French organisers using to reduce corner cutting this year?

Corner cutting will be limited on Rally France or you can take a gamble and flatten them!
