Did you read the whole item? The closing down rumor was from a radio show. There's also a contradiction from the Bill Davis Racing web site.
I don't see OTC 360 sticking with them too much longer if they don't start making races real soon. They're spending $20 million plus and getting nothing for their money.
What's your source on the $20mil OTC 360 figure? $20million's the ballpark number for the top teams, with a proven record: #24, 48, 20, 6, 17, 8, etc. With Toyota startup money and support, and considering how late the deal was announced, I think they probably took alot less. Maybe in the $6-10mil range. Mayfield's probably not getting big bucks (for Cup), with 5 wins in 14 years, that's not a consistant winner.Quote:

I realize you threw all this out for argument's sake, but the reason the #17 team has multiple primary sponsors (DeWalt, Carhartt, R&L Carriers, USG Sheetrock & Arby’s) is to try and keep up with the #8’s, #20’s, #24’s & #48’s of the world. I wonder if #22 and #36 get equal machinery. If they do, Mayfield really got his ass whooped by Blaney. Not that DB is a bad driver... he's been clearly the most competitive Toyota driver this year. :up:
