That one on the picture is class R3T car ;)
very strange as Peugeot already has an R3T car
So they will continue to test and homologate the R3T mid 2010 as said in GPWeek, to be ready with the new WRC car (whatever the rules will be...) by I guess 1 Jan 2011.
Is that the best solution, or is it better to do as Ford are doing to race and sell a few S2000 cars, and at the same time develop the new WRCar, but with rally data ?
Chris Meeke testing the new Citroen DS3 R3T, looks to me like that car doesn't have any sound at all, looks like another aspirator. :(

Yes, it’s because the R3T have a 28 mm restrictor. The restrictor kills the sound and sounds like lazy farting cows.Quote:

Please Citroen, show us the DS3 1.6T.
boring and ugly
Just checked the 2010 regulations and for R3T the restrictor is now 29 mm (little better fart sound and more power) and for the R3D 32 mm.
The question is: will be enought? R3T is really boring to watch and to hear ...
Sounds as boring as todays WRC cars.....Quote:

For me these are not competition cars, rather road cars with a roll cage and a slightly louder exhaust.
The 1.6T WRCs will sound better than this, but I really hope they will rev higher and sound a bit more aggressive than todays WRCs too.
I like the car. Rallying is not only about big WRC's or Gr B's with perfect sound. In the past clio's, corsa's, ... have showed some nice rallying and this will be about the same.
What does this car cost? About the same as the R3 Clio (non-maxi)?
Fully built 207 R3T cost around 60 tousand Euro I think.
Sounds like an Evo Group N car!
HaCo what Clios do you mean?
As far as I know they have always been spectacular full-bread race cars ;)
I heard that Citroen with DS3 R3T will present a very fast car, who could challenge the speed of the Clio R3. Peugeot wilth 207 R3T will stay only as a cup car, so no big improvements in terms of speed (except 1 mm bigger restrictor and a new - more reliable - electronics). Any inside informations? ;)
Off topic but I know that Fiat 500 R3T will cost 48 000 basic kit (no equipment,eg. light pods 2000 euro) . Overall it will be around 60 000 euro
I mean small 2WD cars. When driven by proper and fast drivers, they are spectacular too :)Quote:

Clio Williams GrA,Clio Maxi,Clio S1600 and Clio R3 are all full attractive race cars , all above this in my opinion ;)
But of course it's all about the driver.Even though the car is boring in my opinion Meeke's driving makes it spectatular ;)
The new Citroen DS3 R3T reminds me in sound Renault GT Turbo in 1988!! Am i wrong?
Today Portuguese site ralis.online revealed one pic of the new DS3 WRC! It seems that car is being tested by Bulgaski! I guees pic is from Autohebdo!

According to German site rallye-magazin.de, Loeb has been testing his future rallycar in the past days and this for the first time in a proper way and on gravel.
He is saying that they will not do any rally's with it like Ford will do, but he says that with enough testing they can easily reach same level. He is confident that the car will work well. :)
Let's hope that Loeb does not drive the Ds3 like the C4
What do you mean by that? sideways is the slow way of driving. You even look at Gwyndaf Evans in UK in an historic specification Escort Mk2 and he is driving "neat" Sideways and flambouant style went out when pacenotes came in. People think, its the active diffs, the tyres, 4WD, Normally aspirated that "spoiled the sideways style". Truth is sideways only worked when you didnt know where exactly the road was going.Quote:

This video shows the new car being tested, and the engine used it's from a C4 WRC but they fitted a restrictor to get more or less the idea on how 1.6T will run.
I must say that im impressed on how the car looks, in the pictures it kinda looked weird but after watching this it looks like an impressive beast.
Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2rXA...layer_embedded.
The car use very soft suspension which reminds me Focus WRC.
Νice find!!Where is located this test?Quote:

I think the test DS3 is using BOS (as in Subaru) suspension components. Also I think Bugalski said that the test car had a lot of temporary parts on it such as the rear wing.Quote:
