I am using Richard Burns Rally and I am a dyslexic.
Today my wife asked me to turn off visual aid and see how much trouble it would cause me. Well it did.. especailly on blind corner (over crest) and on intersection.
On both on of those the few tenth of second it takes me to process Right to Left cause many accidents...
I was wondering if anyone actualy racing is having trouble because of that.
Does anyone know if any driver is actualy having trouble because of that afflication ?
No, but i often walk past a church and wonder if there really is a Dog.
I'm quite badly dyslexic and struggeld with left and right quite badly when i started rallying.....we got rould this by using myside and yourside whenever the corner or junction was not obvious.
On one jersey rally i kept trying to turn the wrong way at the same corner and i'd have gone in to the guys shed!...on the 4th run through the stage all the spectators were ready for me and were waving the right direction to me!
I also do a bit of navigating and sorting the times out can be really hard for me too.
It sis very surprising just how many dsylexic people work in motorsport, especially at profesional level.
Good to know that it's not something that holds people back from the sport.
If I remember correctly, sweet Natalie Barratt has dyslexia.

I did a whole rally (GB so only about 30 km) with visual aids. Not driving to the limit, basicaly making sure that I will see the end of every stage, and trying 1st with visual aid and then withouth.
The second time around (only sounds) i was about 1 sec slower per km.
