…and the speed at certain point on a stage doesn’t tell the whole truth.
Vauhdin maailama made their traditional speed measurement during NORF on four different stages, one spot on Urria and Leustu 1, two different spots on Palsankylä and two on Ouninpohja at the yellow house jump. What I still missed was measurements at the apex , arrival or departure from a fast turn, at least some other turns than a junction.
SS 4 Urria, 500 m straight - gently sloping uphill – 90 degree turn (most of the top drivers started to break after the measuring point, some before it:

No, it doesn't really:
S. Loeb - 1: 164, 2: 147, 3: 169
M. Hirvonen - 1: 162, 2: 143, 3: 168
P. Solberg - 1: 161, 3: 170
M. Ostberg - 1: 158, 3: 165
J.M Latvalla - 1: 152, 2: 145, 3: 165
T. Neuville - 1: 167, 2: 146, 3: 167
M. Prokop - 1: 152
D. Sordo - 1: 154
O. Tanak - 1: 160
But interesting statistics anyway.
What I forgot to tell about the observations of the VM crew at the yellow house jump, was that the Fords was landing more on their nose compared to the Citroens. The VM crew suspected that the problem could be with the rear suspension of the Fiesta that having the rear dampers + springs leaning more backwards compared to Citroen. Could IMO be an aerodynamic issue as well? I don’t know.
Little off topic from Adac rally but hope you don’t mind Brother John.
