I was told there were only 100 made. Whether these were 100 of each driver or 100 in total, I don't know.

Here are some pictures of the 1992 Prodrive BMW I have been converting. Thought I’d start with an easier one first, I also plan to do the 1992 Vic Lee BMW for Harvey and Soper. Not sure what driver to do yet, I’m thinking of doing both Alain Menu and Colin McRae. Started with a Minichamps base, had to de-decal it, then respray it. Have started to decal it, just need to do the front end and the windows and add the correct numbers. Hope these are of some interest!
Here's another picture!
Looks good.. how did you remove the decals and why did you need to re-paint it white?
Thanks, I found that some were decals and some of the car was painted. I used WD40 to remove the decals it had, then had to T-Cut the rest. The problem was in some places it went to bare metal and in the corners I couldn't remove all the paint (Original car was white, but had alot of blue and red along the sides), hence the respray.Quote:

I have just started to make a Mat Jackson BMW. Just need to sort the decalling out, I have a good friend helping me at the moment!
All the original decals came off no-problem, so no need to paint the car.
BTW, I never used WD-40 before..
I didn't know that until I tried getting them off. I presumed they were all waterslide from my Tamiya kit days!Quote:

How is making your own decals going? Have you sorted the decals sticking on to the paper yet?Quote:

Just getting the artwork sorted..
so was there a Vauxhall model give away at Brands?
Have finished my first BTCC conversion more a less. Decided to go with Alain Menu first as he's a double BTCC champ! Some of the later decals were a bit harder to attach than the earlier ones especially the black bumper pieces.
I couldn't get rid of the original driver's name off the rear side window. So I had to cut around it and replace it with a slightly oversize peice and stick it in place. Also haven't got around to replacing the wheels yet, but at least these are black and from a distance it doesn't notice.
Think I'll try the 1992 Vic Lee BMW of Harvey next, just need to find a paint match for the green!
The huge 19 inch wheels are what I most remember about the Prodrive car.

I'm still undecided on which to do, I think I might go with the black wheels as they featured more on the car that season.Quote:

vx1054, if it help the mixture for the Humbrol paints are
40% Gloss White (Humbrol 22, Gunze Sangyo 1)
30% Yellow Green (Humbrol 38, Gunze Sangyo 16)
30% Sky Blue (Humbrol 48, Gunze Sangyo 25)
I have just listed this on ebay if anybody is interested

Thanks for the paint idea Kilomunns, haven't ever tried Humbrol paints before. The only other lead I came across was with the Decals for the Harvey car. The baymo instructions says for paint to use Vauxhall Mint Green, I have tried looking for this paint but to no avail so far.Quote:

It depends if it's a Minichamps or Motorart. If it's Motorart they are on ebay for around £10. If it's Minichamps your talking anything between £50 and £80, don't let it go for less than £50.Quote:

I wouldn't really know what that would be worth then, I've seen Minichamps signed by Rydell go for £80. As it's signed by both Rydell and Walkinshaw should make it very exclusive. May be worth putting on ebay with a decent reserve and see if it makes it.Quote:

The only trouble with the reserve is the minimum you can reserve it for is now £50 and I'm not sure it would go for that price if it's a Motorart.
The 2 motopro cars should go quite well, especially the 1990 one as there haven't been many of them on ebay. The last one I saw was a couple of years ago and I bought it. :D It wasn't excellent condition thought but acceptable! But I can't remember how much I paid for it.
Are you going to put them on ebay soon? The Bellm car interests me and that on my hit list :s pin: :s pin:
the bellm car isnt in mint condition some of the decals have become tatty but still looks good, just needs a clean up.

That's a possibility, but if it goes for lower it's your choice whether you accept it or not. I sold some old Vincent books last year with a £150 reserve, it didn't make it, but I accepted the last bid of £128.
I have just seen in Diecast legends mag that Trofeu are releasing a BTCC 1988 Ford Sierra 2 car set of Rouse and Soper. The price is £55.99 which I think is reasonable for the set.
Thats been rumoured, announced then cancelled many times already, so we'll have to wait and see if the latest announcement will finally happen.
I've ahd it on pre order with Trax for at least 6 months along with the 87 Sierra of Rouse.
Same here, also on TRAX is the 1989 Sierra of Rouse, which I presume is a reissue?Quote:

So IXO can sell you their special screwdriver and make even more money off youQuote:

Just get a normal phillips screwdriver and cut the end off then file it to the shape you need. Just use an old one you have that's a bit worn down.
I thought most people keep their models in their boxes and consign them to a dark place, normally, the attic!
