Question. How many spare tyres can driver take in the car? If soft is best for current conditions, but bad for endurance, why not take 4 spares. Yes, overweight is taxing, but in this conditions maybe good option?

Fri 11:24 - SS4: Mikkelsen –
The first split is showing Mikkelsen is already 30.0s slower than Ogier at the first split – 6.80km in. The Norwegian may have had a problem. More to follow...

Mikklesen with broken driveshaft.
Looks like the Mikkelsen will have to concentrate on the 3 place in the championship.
easy job now for Neuville for the 2nd place at championship,.Mikkelsen has to do all stages at afternoon with the broken shaft,he is going toloose massive time.

Not that simple because Paddon is also rising. He could be on the podium in Wales and Neuville is only 7th at the moment (whereas there is only a 13-point gap before Wales). And Paddon would have a better road position in Australia.
The fight in Australia could be very interesting
SD winner Tanak fastest again. ;)
You have to write this all rally long?
I don't have time to waste otherwise I would have shown you all the time a SD winner literally sucked at the event.
SD can give some hint but says nothing solid since it's just a warming up for drivers and a way to try some minor changing in the setup.
Anyway you think different and that is ok. Just move on now.
A surprising amount actually

Abbring his off was due to a puncture!
Nope... I've hit a wooden screw on the highway once but that's about it.
My theory is that he was surprised by the low grip, but we won't know until some video surface...
All rally, no just this morning.
So you dont think Tanaks SD time indicated anything, not his confidence, not his good tyres for the event ?
Plus you are always the first to post when he has a good SD, like yesterday...
Not always, but sometimes SD does show something.
Ogier slower than this morning

SS5: MIKKELSEN – He's into the stage with his two-wheel-drive Polo R. The organisers have given him a four-minute gap over Neuville to try and minimise the risk of the Norwegian being caught.

#tyre info: all Michelin @OfficialWRC drivers with 5 Michelin LTX Force S except Mikkelsen with 6S #WRGB #wrc
Breen seems stopped... rolled.:(
Citroën Racing @CitroenRacing ˇ 28s29 seconds ago Wales, United Kingdom
#WRC #WRGB SS5 @craig_breen rolled in SS5, crew OK
Possibly the first real mistake by Breen in the DS3. Not bad though considering the little time he's had in the WRC car.
All are losing time to Ogier on the last section of SS5.
Sunninen takes 7 minutes from Ogier at second split and storms into a rally lead with an wrc2 car. What a drive :)
Lefebvre should have come in by now and has stopped moving on the GPS map :/
hmmm
...bad day for Citroen? Let's hope not
Edit; he moved. Technology playing tricks again (really, how hard can it be to get this stuff working?)
Hi-speed spin for Suninen and over 20 seconds lost.
