I would say really stupid chicane, just like the tractors in Jyväskila, but maybe the Czech Fans will hate me now?
This is just one spectator arena on the only relatively easy stage of today - few hundred meters of 13 km. The thing is that this area is owned by one of the most important Barum Rally sponsor. The guy offered his company area for making it a spectator arena for people who don't go to the forests as it's a "corner" of the stage which actually goes from the forests into Zlín city before it turns away again. Yes, it is artifficial but people can reach it by trolleybus and it's always completely crowded. You may hate it but it makes wonders for the publicity.
Today was very hard day. Two of the hardest stages - Kašava and Pindula were expected to bring some drama and they delivered. I can't say I'm happy about the results as I was really wishing Alex Lukyanuk to keep the fight with Jan Kopecký till the end (one of the reason why we chose to spectate the last fast place before the end of the rally) and because I'm a fan of Jaromír Tarabus.
In the morning close to the finish of Pindula on very rough surface Lukyanuk was the only one who took our place completely flat out but what is interesting he lost approximately 1 second to Kopecký on this last 1-2 km. Bouffier's car had already a bit strange sound and appeared weak but he didn't comment it at the stage end so I thought it's ok but it clearly wasn't...
Video including the crash of Kopáček: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0Frh16PJBI
PS Something funny... I accidentally found that some 500 meters from the service park there was a large tent of Circus Alex :-D

watch at 4,05 Luky and Jan at the flat left corner.Over the limits.

That's exactly a moment one friend who was there described to me as something completely unbelievable and now I can see it :)
By the way watch Jan's emotions in the finish. This wasn't an ordinary victory...
Was this incredible accident of Botka from Saturday posted here?

The second (heli) and third shot (static) is the last fast corner of the rally where I was standing on a large hay bale on the opposite side of the road. It's awesome place but the cameraman stood on the wrong side of the road not seeing the exit (there is a big cut over a bump with following heavy braking into a hairpin). I can't understand why he stood where he stood. I was triyng to wave on him that the proper angle of view is ours but he didn't understand.
By the way there were exactly 13 spectators there. Hundreds at several slow corners under 5 minutes of walking...
Great victory for Kopecky, awsome fight with Alexy. Nevertheless, Kopecky was almost all the time in front of Alexy, he was setting the boundaries to Alexy who was forced to take such big risks. And on the last stage again lost everything.....shame.
Luky is a huge talent, always spectacular, funny guy; but missing one thing: he "misses" to often the checkerd flag.
On the other hand I can not ignore the fact, that I'm very very happy for Kostka, who clinched second position on the E.R.C rally. Great result for a second class circuit driver...and a shame for other established rally drivers!
Kostka is local and a brother-in-law of Kresta :p
of course it wasnt. He broke into tears because of the stress, inside his home, works team, specialist rally with bumpy roads that we havent see any foreign drivers to be fast, and the other driver not experienced or specialist at asphalt.
it would be very different to loose from Luky, than to loose from ie Kresta,Pech.
relief of stress.
Big respect for him,job done, result matters for skoda inside Czech.

Great that ERC are making full-stage onboards available.. eagerly awaiting some of Luky but here is SS10 with Kopecky:

A coulple of thoughts on the event as I saw it:
-in the main ERC field, Kopecky and Luky were visibly faster, even though Lukyanuk was very-very precise where I saw him, Kopecky on the other hand was visibly pushing very hard. Shame for Bouffier, he did reasonably well, but as soon as he passed me on Maják I knew he was finished (even though his time wasn't bad according to the Skoda Motorsport guys standing next to us who recorded the times and asphalt temperatures), sounded the same as Tóth in Eger when he had to retire with engine problems too. Sirmacis was crazy, on the SSS he had a spin right in front of us, and generally was just all over the place. I was a bit disappointed with Botka, he was driving very rash and aggressive, changing lines in the turns constantly, he almost took a wheel off on SS7 where I was, then he had the moment from the video... Kostka, Tarabus, Cerny and Kajto were also good.
-the Toyota R3 looks cool, kind of sounds nice, but it looks very weak, Rossetti tried with it, but I don't think there's much more there. The R2s were great again, Ingram was taking a lot of risks, Griebel and Tannert were much less aggressive. And Gryazin... he's just crazy too. :D
-on the SSS I was very surprised that Pech got a bigger reaction than everybody (including Kopecky) at the OMV station, other than that he drove well, but nothing special, and he didn't seem too concerned in the service park about retiring. Tomáštík was OK, and Madsen too, although I expected a bit more noise from that Suzuki.
-one questionable thing was the spectator no-go areas in the forests, I think at places they were way too conservative, but OK, luckily I was able to find a good spot none the less.
-all in all a good event, lot of spectators, spectacular passes and great atmosphere, especially on SSS and Maják.
On the other hand there will be no full stage onboards on mediasport.cz from Eurosport cameras. No agreement this time...
Some onboards and videos can be seen here though (Pech SS2, Valoušek SS7 so far): https://www.youtube.com/user/maxmann78/videos
I think I agree with everything You wrote, also about the spectator safety and taping which was sometimes way too far from the road. I am still quite happy with our places as mostly we could see well enough although it would be difficult to catch a nice video from where spectators were allowed.
Yes, Kajto is quite close to the title now. There are only two rallies to go and I'm afraid Lukyanuk would have to win them both if he wants to win ERC.
Standings after Barum:
1 Kajetan KAJETANOWICZ (POL) 166
2 Alexey LUKYANUK (RUS) 90
3 Ralfs SIRMACIS (LVA) 79
4 Bryan BOUFFIER (FRA) 42
5 Jan KOPECKY (CZE) 39
Hope to see some on-board of Luky...
resume of Eurosport (i don't like commentator seem he is comment a funeral) was showing some nice previews:)

Lukyanuk: Next time I will again fight to the last meter
Russian driver Alexey Lukyanuk seduced by this past weekend, many unexpected, very tight battle with Jan Kopecky for victory on Barum Czech Rally Zlin, the eighth European Championship. The pair rode with an overview of the rest of the world and throughout the weekend the gap between the two drivers did not move any higher than nine seconds, Czech and Russian pilots were divided over RZ6. And in seconds the gap even before the start of final exams, when the two divided 46/10 and fans anxiously awaiting how the battle cracks. He, however, prematurely ended barrel in about half the final stage Lighthouse, where the pilot Fiesta R5 damaged the steering bar, had a few minutes to repair and finished 16th.
"The mood now is improving and if I take, how well and quickly we all weekend went, so I'm glad we were able to perform such a feat. Sure, an error in the last stage we lost dearly. It was the smallest mistake, which I for all weekend and decided to do so two to three centimeters, "Alexey Lukyanuk returns to Barum rally continues," the obstacles that we have been hit too hard and the steering arm's broke. so it went, like in Estonia - a small mistake, but huge consequences. Here we can either win or be second to lose everything. And of these three scenarios is finally took the third one. "
When Alex Lukyanuk back before the start of beacon, and according to his words do not test ridden with much more vigorously than in previous ones. "Before the final exam us with Kopecky divided five seconds, and I felt that at a normal pace, we will be able to this distinction clear. One could argue that in this situation it is better to concentrate on the completion of the contest, but when two hundred kilometers driving at a pace that is enough per-second duel for victory before the final stage reached in five seconds, it just does not work. From the couch to give good advice, but if you are an athlete and you just want to win. "

Tarabus, he crashed somewhere in the extremely fast section between Kašava and Podkopná Lhota. I don't know where exactly.
