Good news for Ypres Rally, quite a big chance now that they will replace Ireland I would think.
Wasn't Ypres already mooted a while back ?
Plus its not happy with the ERC so should be glad to get the BRC interest...
It looks certain that Ypres is part of the BRC next year. Just waiting for an official announcement. :)

A new home for the Ulster Rally in 2016, Derry/Londonderry. A vibrant city that has received ‘City of Culture’ status and a place that is used to hosting events. Run late into Friday night, the Ulster is one of the few events that will offer night tests to our competitors.
Local Jonny Greer details some of the challenges of the Ulster Rally. “They are always good stages. The organisers seem to be able to come up with tests that offer everything: bumps, jumps, fast sections, smooth tarmac and then really tight, technical sections.”
“It’s great to have some night-time stages as well. We don’t get to do much in the dark nowadays and it is always a different atmosphere are night. You see the hi-vis jackets of the marshals and spectators, the flash bulbs going off at junctions and it really focuses your driving. You only have this narrow window, highlighted by the spotlights in which to work and it drags you in.”
“The Ulster Rally is always really well organised, a great event with a good atmosphere. And with a new city hosting it, I can’t wait to get out on the stages.”
Filthy weather Ulster Rally this morning. Drivers concerned about the options. Stewards briefing at 11:15 .
Colin Clark: Very very strange situation here at the Ulster. Pouring with rain and boys having to go out on soft slicks.
Should be declared a wet rally but hasnt... Weird.
What a Zero car !

Cronin is still in service so out of the lead fight. :( Elfyn Evans now leads from Fisher.
So 20 years after his father Gwyndaf won the same title in the same place, Elfyn Evans wins the Ulster Rally and the BRC championship !
Congrats boyo ! :D
Well done to DMack also. ;)
DMack's dossier on BRC 2016:

I think this shows Elfyn Evans domination of the 2016 Season better than anything...
BRC fastest stage times (after round 6/7)
1 Elfyn Evans GBR/Craig Parry GBR (Ford Fiesta R5) 41
2 Fredrik Åhlin SWE/Morton Abrahamsen NOR (Ford Fiesta R5) 11
3 David Bogie GBR/Kevin Rae GBR (Škoda Fabia R5) 4
= Tom Cave GBR/James Morgan GBR (Ford Fiesta R5) 4
= Keith Cronin IRL/Galvin Mikie IRL (Citröen DS 3 R5) 4
BRC stages led (after round 6/7)
1 Evans/Parry 43
2 Åhlin/Abrahamsen 9
3 Josh Moffett/John Rowan 6
I definitely think Elfyn's presence has helped the championship in its first year back. He's been a great benchmark for other drivers. Debatable whether he really lured any other drivers in that wouldn't have entered anyway (with the possible exception of Ahlin) but I hope we'll be in for a much more competitive fight next year.
