where is Jafry?
Decent start to the rally by Neuville, keeping the VW's in sight...
Long way to go, and we all know JML, so a top 2 finish is a real possibility for Thierry.
I cant believe Novikov though... out AGAIN.
Novikov hasn't been the same since Giraudet's injury, or rather he has been the same as he used to be before being co-driven by Denis... ;)
What did they use?Quote:

On the second place we switched our place during the passing of tourist drivers. First place was a fast right one with big cut (see photo) before heavy braking before a junction left. Very spectacular for the "big" cars. For the DS3's, Fiesta's, R1 cars etc, we went to another place a few hundred meters from the other place. A fast right one with cut/bump before a T-right, also very nice braking. What was most impressive for me today, was the stability of the VW Polo's. It looks like the Polo WRC's are glued on the tarmac, really crazy (but it doesn't make it more spectacular). The DS3 WRC for example is moving a lot more, already tending to lift a wheel when there's some small bump. Also very nice spectacle from the DS3's and Fiesta R2's, you see they really go for it (unlike the tourist drivers in better machinery).
A quick photo of the not so surprising leader...

We drove SS2 and seen practically half of SS1, and I can say today's stages were not "WRC-worthy" in my opinion. More and most likely better action tomorrow. ;)

I remember Mirek saying last year before the issues at GB and Finland about BRR cars being very reliable as they are only one step (virtually) below the Works Skoda Motorsport cars, and that he could only recall one reliability issue previously. Well what the hell has happened since then! I know BRR cars are generally very good but it must be very frustrating for Paddon paying so much money for events like this to occur coupled with Wales GB and Finland from last year which cost him dearly.
Oh and go Sordo, Mads, Thierry and Jari-Matti!! :bounce: :D

An update on my friend's gallery: ADAC Rallye Deutschland 2013
We did SS1 yesterday at the downhill section with several bends with cuts, same as is shown on the comparison video Ogier & Neuville dimvii posted here. We had almost the same spot as well, those guys stood next to us. We hadn't recced Blankenheim so we were lucky to find even that much. It was technical bit, but not very inspiring in the end. First we wondered where Novikov is, then we saw Paddon coming slowly and Evans behind. Paddon made way at the bottom of the hill, Evans virtually lost no time with that. I must say I didn't know nationals were running yesterday, so that was nice surprise. We moved a little to a place with deeper cut, WRCs must've cut two car widths or more. It was all Opel Adam from there on, but those were nice to watch.
Now were soon off to SS3. This schedule with two days with two stages isn't really the most optimal. It was seen on Blankenheim too, only a few spectators in my opinion.
Super frustrating for a kiwi fan, i really think he could have taken it to Kubica in this rally!Quote:

Well, BRR cars are still very reliable, as Baumschlager prooves on every Rally heīs doing himself. In my opinion itīs really only bad luck with Paddonīs car.
Brake issues on Ss1 and same on SS 2 plus a puncture near the end of the stage ...
Cronin had Brake problems on the 2 stages and also a puncture near the end of SS 2 ....
