I don't know how it ran, but I do know it was a DNQ.
It also appeared at Phoenix in November of that year, but is listed as a DNQ, too slow.
I imagine it was a handful to drive and the handling was never worked out.
Phoenix, do you or anyone else know the story behind the car?
I don't have much it DNQ at Indy due to a lack of speed the fastest lap was 149 mph. The chassis has two Lancia gearboxes (one for each engine), aluminum bodywork and the engines were mounted forward of the wheels on both the ends. Huffaker is still in business making chassis. Came across their site looking a restored Huffaker with MG liquid suspension. Those cars were at Indy 1964 to 1966 just wonder where the Porsche powered one is at now.Quote:

Driver - Michael Chandler
Car - Eagle 81 Chevy
Year - 1982
Track - Riverside (?)
If it is Riverside, it was some kind of race. Only 4 out of 28 cars finished! :)
Yes, it struck me too! A single wrecked car and a couple of dozens of mechanical failures.
You are Correct. :up:Quote:

It was held in the end of August in what is basically a low desert area. Temps had to be about 115 digress maybe more. They just worked those oval cars in to the ground they were not meant for that kind of racing.Quote:

Yep, that's correct! Your turn.
I found this pic on the hompepage of that mechanic in red that you see checking the temperature (?) of the right-front tyre of the car. The guy is/was a racer himself:

Just guessing...
1958 Monza Sterling Moss Maserati?
The bodywork kinda looks like the Moss' Maser.

Daewoo is a big company producing textiles, electronics, all kinds of stuff. Their implication in motorsport as an automotive company however was close to inexistent. Definitely not an engine manufacturer in CART.Quote:

Mark Windecker can post the next one if he's still around.
If he doesn't by tomorrow someone else can go.
:)
That would have been something to see. I think that both sides of the Atlantic would have gained more in the world of open wheel racing. That is one race I would have love to see.Quote:
