Hello everybody :)
Probably there is info somewhere but I just looked in this thread.
What is the plan for next year European rally championship? Any news yet?
I think that it was not mentioned here but Juho Hänninen is already European Champion. His presence in this season showed clearly the level the championship has.
1. Hänninen 203 points
2. Solowow 49 points
...
Full IRC program now for him would be the best, so he can take away Andreas his IRC title gift :p
Juho said on MTV3’s web site (2.9.2012) that probably they wouldn’t drive any ERC rallies anymore. The programme for the rest of the season is still open. He mentioned that the bosses have a meeting next week and after that he’ll know more.

Here in Finland the ERC haven’t had much publicity even in motorsport magazine “Vauhdin Maailma”. I believe the ERC had more importance before the drivers WRC or maybe already before the manufacturers WRC. I didn’t follow rallying so closely in the 70’s and the first years of the 80’s so I’m not sure about the publicity in the 70’s.
WRC has so far been concentrated in Europe, which decreased the importance & publicity of ERC.
News entrylist Rallye Principe Asturias(Spain)
It's all from Juho's newsletter actually. Team bosses are having the said meeting this week. He could appear in IRC this year, I hope.Quote:

Very atractive National entry list. Pons also in 911 GT3. With all this fast drivers behind the whell of 911's the overall winner should be on of them.....Quote:

I see now that Poland - ERC and Sliven - IRC are in the same time
Not good for the entries...
Most of the European private teams/drivers will go in Poland !
This weekend IRC Yalta and ERC Asturias is also in the same weekend... Antonín Tlust'ák is leading in Asturias.
The whole of rallying is suffering. This weekend, Asturias ERC poor, IRC Yalta Poor, WRC Wales poor...Quote:

Tlusťák crashed, Antxustegi mechanical problem. Both out.
A spectator has died in Tlusťák's crash. And there are rumours they still want to run a last stage this afternoon. Shameful...
oh no....
Bad rally for the organization, with many problems...
ERC for the next year? ...
There is a photo from the place of the crash... I will not post it directly in any case: http://static.onpeliculas.net/images...10699_full.jpg
seems it was in a junction
Again... :(
Looks like the year has to come to an end fastly. 2012 is a disaster for our sport!!!! R.I.P.Quote:

A correction. According to Tlusťák it was really a spectator. He said the people were standing on the railguard on the outer side of a tightening corner. He was wide and went over the railguard with almost no damage on the car...
Condolence to the family of the unfortunate spectator.
Two drivers announced their presence in the next ERC round, Rally Poland. Krzysztof Holowczyc is going to drive Subaru Impreza R4 from Tommi Makinen Racing.
The second driver is a Finnish talent Esapekka Lappi who is going to drive Ford Fiesta S2000.
Lappi will drive works Fabia S2000, Jarek ;)
I can't confirm this but they are rumors about Bryan and 208 as a 0 car in Rally Poland. But like i said this can be sci-fi :)
54 entries so far!
Entry list?Quote:
