Think organisers struggle with comms, to get the times from stage end to hq.
So delays in results so far.
Mads Östberg on SS5
Looks like a small off or puncture ??? :(
Attachment 1905
New C3 R5, not sure if owner is Citroen Norway or Adapta. Reg mumber KH 96796.
Mads says he has gotten a job with Red Bull TV, and are looking forward to that.
Second round of Norwegian Championship this weekend.
Numedalsrallyt with 8 stages ( 5 different stages)
Veiby with Hyundai R5 or Gröndal or Frank Tore Larsen with Ford Fiesta should be the contenders for the win.

Quite good startlist at Romjulsrally in 2 days, also interesting to see Eyvind Brynhildsen in his first rallycar, a Volvo 740 VOC!

When Corona makes it hard to arrange rallies, some makes it happen.
A sprintrally #Lygnasprinten takes place today.
The special thing here is that the Historic class suddenly have close to 20 cars, spearheaded by Henning Solberg, Escort Mk1 and Eivind Brynildsen, Golf II GTI. I think it is the largest field of Historic rallycars ever in Norway. Love it!

First round of this years championship.

14 RC2 cars.
Veiby lost loads of time on SS2...
Veiby into a ditch on ss2, a lot of snow showeling to get out. And of course no fans in the forrest, due to Corona.
Two good fights at the end;
1st place fight: Marius Aasen that has been struggeling to get his new Rally2 Fabia to work till the end of a rally, suddenly he got the package to work, and gained more milage and the speed got better. On last stage he passed Frank Tore Larsen in a Polo, amd took the win. Mr Aasen And wife Marlene Engan makes a comeback after 3 years away from rally. So they still got it.
3rd place fight also decided on last stage when Henning Solberg, that was first on the road, and with weather turning from -10 C to just above zero degrees overnight, madte it slushy. Not easy for the first cars.
Henning did a sprint in his rented Fiesta on last stage and passed Anders Grøndal in a Rally2 Fiesta.
Anders has been struggeling to get the Rally2 Fiesta to work well on gravel and snow, and had new parts from M-Sport flown in and fitted. New engine, box and diffs. But With little to no testimg of the new parts, he is way off target, and car not responding when he is pushing, so he is just driving at 80%, to get maximum points. I hope they can get testimg new parts and that they get the Rally2 fiesta to work, if not I guess he will try to swap to a different brand. Not that easy when your dayjob is owning a Ford dealership.
Lets hope Corona restrictions still will allow for more rallies in weeks and months to come!
Sadly the round at Sigdal is cancelled due to warm weather, after been postponed due to covid.
So, the Norwegian championship after the winterseason is after just 1 rally.
Hopefully we got some more rallies in summertime than the 3 rallies planned.

2022, Rally2 class in Norway has grown to 13 cars and HenningS said he might have a car for the next one.
Rally4 has 8-9 cars, and only old R2 cars, so it is an even field, with Røkland a small head above the youngsters.
The rest ov the 90+ cars are older national classes, many of them old rwd Cars. Some of them cost a fortune and are very quick, also on snow!
In the first rally in the 22 championship, Brynildsen won the first one with 0,2 sec over Veiby, Marius Aasen came 3rd. Close call, where Brynildsen overtook for the win on the powerstage.
Yesterday in rd 2 it was still a close call among the top 4, with Grøndal a bit back in 5th.
On the powerstage the leading Veiby first changed a puncture, then after that he caught a rock ima right hander, broke the suspension, and stuck in the middle of the road to block. Then Larsen in another Polo took the win with 4 sec over Brynildsen, with Aasen again taking 3rd

Gus Greensmith will start in Numedalsrally this weekend, in a Fiesta Rally2. He feels he need winter training before sweden.

Any bets or guesses on where he will end up on the final resultlist?

As expected.
Snow is worst surface both for Fiesta and for Greensmith.
Amazing perf by Steve Rökland :D
But Ola Nore Jr(learning his Ford Fiesta Rally 4)isn't far away behind :mark:
After SS5
Good fight in the top, and in the R2's/Rally4's!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8e086f9e45.jpg

I don't think the Fiesta Rally2 helped him, to be ironic, but the level in Norwegian rally is extremely high this season, i actually don't think any WRC driver would have an easy drive on this one.

I think Mikkelsen in a Skoda is above Veiby, but a Norwegian going to win there;)
But, how competative is the polo now? Any upgrades last years?
Brynhildsen has a older Fabia, and beats Aasen in a Rally2 Fabia.
At these traditional national rallies with classic stages, it is hard to beat the locals anyway.
But at snow, Veiby should be inside the top 4 in Sweden .

I was plesantly surprised with Greensmith. He was first on the road, in a car very few get to work on snow, and on stages he did not know.
I thought he would be further behind.
No one knows much on how quick the rally1 cars are on snow, if the Puma will have an edge on that surface as well.
Exiting times with new cars!
Norwegian rally championship is close, really exiting this year!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6b84df067b.jpg

Would like to see a Fiesta Rally3 in the hands of Steve Rokland.
Rented from Printsport or some other team renting them out.
with two days of testing, he would be up there with the older R5 cars.
Yes, that's possible. Last weekend he managed to get into top 6 driving an old Peugeot 208 R2!
Have a look:

Henning Solberg won this weekends Rally Hadeland in front of Anders Grøndal!
Frank Tore Larsen was leading before his front shock died and ended in the ditch.

Henning Solberg won the norwegian rallychampionship today, he was second but Frank Tore Larsen got technical problems on the liason after last SS, and have to do a DNF.
It was enough to put the old fox on top.

What a thriller.
Looks like 2WD norwegian champion Steve Rökland switched from the 208 R2 to a Toyota 4WD this season(at least on Sigdals Rally last week)
Some proper accidents in this one from Aurskog Høland Rally
