Thank you.
Herbold makes the gap ahead Wallenwein clearly bigger: 1 min 20 sec. It seems to me we have rally winner!
Mohe, with his Megane, fighting for seventh place against an...Opel Ascona :D
In the rally Vogelsberg no final surprises. Gassner passed over Dobberkau and achieved the fifth place. Easy winning for Herbold. Wallenwein, second within more than two minutes, and Schuhej, third, with a Lancer Evo VII. Mohe, seventh, and another 2wd winning for Mysliwietz. Therefore, DRM goes on with its absurd standings: Wallenwein gets an increasing advantage as leader, but Herbold wins all the rallyes
Indeed, that is not normal that Herbold isn't leading the championship. It was his last DRM rally of the season if his calendar is right on his website.
Sorry to say this, but the level in Germany isn't very high as you see that Herbold wins so easy and that Schuhej is third overall with an Evo VII. :( Some young German talented drivers disappear with lack of budget, while very experienced drivers can do the whole championship...
Right as usual, Wim. The level isn´t certainly very high and we have a quite rather veteran generation of drivers who go on running the season, as young talented drivers, as you said, get being dropped aside. I told you once that I´ve always been very jealous of your belgian rallying scene ;)Quote:

I must say German people are making very nice program books and the drivers and teams have much more postcards or posters than in Belgium. :)
I'd love to see the faces of the FIA people when they see something like this ;)Quote:

The general standings of DRM after Vogelsberg: Wallenwein (61), Mysliwietz (48), Gassner (47), Abendroth (40), Wiegand and Griebel (35). Because of the scoring system, the last three drivers are very highly situated at standings, in spite of not having general points at all, only class points
Why is Herbold missing?
Awesome video, thanks for making and sharing! You must have 3-4 cameraguys around the stage, you're almost doing better than Eurosport!!!! :D :D :DQuote:

Herbold hasn´t made his entry for DRM this year. In fact, he has no plans to run more DRM rallyes during the rest of the season, up to now at leastQuote:

bernhard had some technical failure, some say drive belt, other say engine failure. the truth is probably somewhere in between...

Before rally Pfalz, the rally Sulinger is going to be held next week. Among entries danish Ib Kragh and dutch Jasper Van den Heuvel. Even Jan van der Marel with his Porsche.Very intresting to see Christian Riedemann´s pace, although he runs a Twingo. ;)

Next 12-14th May, we´re going to have Sachsen rally. It´s the first scoring round for DRS ("the other" championship this year in Germany) of seven (including final rallyesprint). This championship has a completely different calendar from DRM.
Link to provisional entry list for Sachsen is here:

and a piece of good news: We are seeing again Kahle and MWallenwein with their Fabias against Herbold, the Porsches, etc
So Škoda Deutschland decided to help DRS against DRM. Interesting.
I really don´t know if it´s a deliberate strategy, but the result seems to be like that. You´re right. Although I remember Skoda as one of the main sponsors in the Wikinger, the first DRM round. I actually thought it was a "sign" of works Skodas entries, but it wasn´tQuote:

Arghh no YPres :(Quote:

Well I think they have more chance in Ypres then Barum. Ypres stages are more similar to Germany stages then Barum stages on narrow road between trees and stuff.
Off topic: That would make a perfect t-shirt!Quote:

No, it is the Group N but later this year we will see him in the R4 car. ;)
Sulinger rally came to an end and Van den heuvel took an easy winning with his Lancer. Kragh was second (sorry for my fault before, there was no such a delay, but a mistake with live times), and Knoebel, third (and first german driver). Riedemann, finallly, seventh. Link to results:

Pfalz rally, third scoring round for DRM took place last weekend. Very thrilling fight between Wallenwein and Gassner. Wallenwein won, and Pritzl got the third position. Class winnings for Mohe and Wiegand but Mysliwietz retired. Championship standings after the rally are as follows:
1-Wallenwein-96
2-Gassner-74
3-Wiegand-57
4-Sulzinger-52
5-Mysliwietz-48
I must add that Sepp Wiegand seems to be a promising driver. His results with his Suzuki are really interesting, and he is only 20 y.o.
