The ability to watch live tv has been available for some time on the iPhone at least. Although more often than not it's probably not worth watching unless you are connected to Wi-fi. When sat in the back seat of a car in traffic last month I did manage to watch Match of the Day on BBC1 via 3G with no major streaming issues. I was quite surprised how good the streaming was.
True, but this allows iPod Touch and iPad users who don't have access to 3G to get a free DTV signal. I haven't checked yet, but I seriously doubt this service is available in my area.
Aye, but this gives you the ability to receive TV signals over the air, without using your data.
It's nothing new. The Nokia N96 has this feature built in, but as so often with Nokia it was completely useless as nobody was (as far as I'm aware they still aren't) broadcasting.

I got an Iphone yesterday. Cost £160 cash (I know a dealer). Bet I never use most of it's stuff :rolleyes:
Never used the bluetooth in my car, never used the net on my last phone, will never bother even investigating half the icons on this Iphone.

Hazell, by stating the fact that you don't use the bluetooth function in your car I hope that is merely an admission that you just don't use your phone while driving. Personally, I'd rather use Bluetooth than have 3 points put on my license and a £60 fine. :)

Quite convenient timing as I'm building a new PC tomorrow night and my current one is being turned into a Windows Home Server :D
Only downside is that the official app only supports the yet to be released version of WHS codenamed Vail and Microsoft have removed the great feature that is drive extender

As for apps, the longer you have it, the more you will find apps and uses for it that you had no idea were even possible. I guess some of the long time iPhone and iPod people on here think that I'm a real goober, since I talk about things that they've probably known about for years. But to me, it's amazing stuff. I'm like the caveman who finally saw someone using fire to cook their food for the first time.
I even found a timber app the other day that should help me calculate the value of various trees that I'd like to sell. Who knew? Tell me, who_knew?! :s mokin:
