Please don't regard those two titles as something to prove the competitiveness of the car.
Last year his main competition was Ib Kragh in an older, self-run 207 S2000. Kragh would have been champion if he hadn't gone off in the dark during the last round of the championship.
This year Kragh upgraded to a DS3 R5, but struggled mightily with it early in the year to get familiar with it and get it to drive to his liking. Still the championship came down to the final stage of the final round.
Add to that - there are basically never any stages run in the dark in Denmark anymore. Except for the final round these last two years. That round is held around Ans, which is where Jensen lives and is a bit of a legend in the community (he runs a very succesful business in the town). If Kragh has a weakness, one that he doesn't even try to hide, it is stages in the dark. Coincidence? I highly doubt it!
When you run with significantly better backing than your closest competitor (Jensen is supported by the importer of Peugeot) and the rest of the field has significantly worse equipment, you have to win.
That Kenneth Madsen was able to win a round overall in what can best be described as a modern-day interpretation of a 306 Maxi (a Swift with a 2l racing engine around 300hp, FWD) and his younger brother Jacob was 2nd overall after the night stages of the final round IN AN ADAM R2 says everything about the current level at the top of Danish rallying. Sad but true.
EDIT: In fact, I just checked. If you look at the results overall for the year, this provides a better overview of the performances of the year than the championship standings, which disregards certain competitors and only goes by classes.
His championship results were: 1st, 1st, 4th, 7th, 1st, 1st.
His overall results in the rally: 3rd, 3rd, 5th, 17th, 1st, 1st.
If the results of the rallies were the basis of the championship, Kragh would have been champion with 92 points to Jensens 85.

A quick spin on the 2nd stage hasn't helped the times too much. Now lying 2nd overall.
Man, I love the oldschool circular numbers. I hope they come back one day...

After SS5 Neil Simpson leads by 13 secs ... but a holed radiator caused by catching another car means they retire. :(
Has the Hyundai R5 turned a wheel yet? Ypres doesn't seem like far away if not.
Shame about Simpson's Skoda having to retire early but it showed enough over the 5 stages...

Spencer Sport needs a top WRC2 driver in Wales, to get a real measurement on the cars potential.
Those cars will be running in colossal ruts, if the weather forecast is anything to go by! More of a survival test I'd suggest.

So simple but so beautiful colors!
It seems Danish rallying isn't at its best...
Jensen may not be the faster, but at least his team managed to prepare him a reliable 208! The team is an importer inhouse department or an external supplier paid by Pug Denmark?
Btw, Peugeot official presence in danish rally must be one of the most enduring all over Europe! I suppose they're doing it since the 80's. When did they start exactly? Any interruption?

Danish rallying is very far from the heyday of the 80's and 90's, but has taken a further step backwards this year. Long explanation!
The team is a bit of a combination. Last I heard (been a while, but the cars have not changed since, so I presume still accurate) it was a single full-time employee who took care of the cars. Rallying in Denmark is very much a grass-roots, do-it-yourself business without any specialist companies.
The guy in charge is former driver and mechanic Kjeld Seidler, who now works as technical director for Peugeot Denmark, with influence from both Christian Jensen and Brian Madsen. The intricacies I don't really know, but it seems to be Jensen in charge of the day-to-day maintenance of his car, Brian or Kim Madsen in charge of the same for the R2 and then they have their own mechanics for their own car at events.
From memory (I was born in 1990, so not completely certain), but the only official Peugeot absence from Danish rallying seems to be at the end of the 306 and 106 Maxi-era until Christian Jensen and Karl-Åge Jensen (no relation) got the importer on board for the 207 S2000-project, which then developped into the current R5.
The beginning of the presence I'm not completely sure of, but the legendary Jens Ole Kristiansen had official support in the mid-80s when he drove a home-built "205 T16". He helped start up the current project before retiring to Spain by the way.
Anyway jensen selling his 208 T16
Saw the Spencer Sport Mirage R5's at Rally GB today - hope they have a good run and get plenty of stage miles.

Skoda Fabia R5 #11 for Antonin Tlustak.
I have no idea, but his result in Wales was easy to predict:

If I am not mistaken Tlustak just rented this car from Walleweins. He will receive his own brand new Fabia R5 later. ...probably in winter.
