Latvala is a very sympatetic person, and a driver You know is rally trough and trough, driving the Lahti historic on his "off" time, restoring rally cars with his father, and just being obsessed with going fast. In Finland he was both "Nose End First" and "Latvala-fast", and it was great. Is it one guy I really would like to win it is Latvala!
And I feel kind of sorry for him, because he takes theese offs so emotionally. I am afraid that this will have him back in " safe mode". He must keep pushing, he is in brilliant form - and the championship needs it!
I have to say the same about Kris Meeke. He is such a caracter, and a very friendly guy, totally commited, and a complete joy to talk to. And he brings color to the championship with his playfull comments vs Ogier.
I think that Meekes speed here in Germany has made his seat in Citroën safer. And I hope we see Citroën running the same two drivers in 15.
i must say this situation reminds me Japan 2007, where Loeb went out and the end of the same day, Gronholm was out to, i think (unless Ogier isn't done with his mistakes for this year) from here till the end of the season the path is layed out for Ogier. one more thing finally VW's winning streak is over, and History will be made (if they make it to the finnish) first time Hyundai win and a first for Neuville, and first time no Citroen on the podium :(
This is just like the time in Corsica in 2003 when Solberg crashed on shakedown and went on to win the rally. Nueville has almost done the same thing.
Has anyone find a video of the GT86?
SS15 Dhrontal 1, second split:
M. HIRVONEN 00:06:02.6
A. MIKKELSEN 00:05:56.0
D. SORDO 00:05:59.1
T. NEUVILLE 00:05:56.5
K. MEEKE 00:05:56.0
J. LATVALA 00:05:56.4
Seems Latvala did not push irresponsible, concentration problem I'm afraid.
Well on the the other hand, the others where pushing like hell. I don't know.
i can imagine Kris meeke saying, "that's my career over" again.
