I think those two points would probably make things a bit more interesting. But since the crews seem to spend an age waiting for their arrival time around a kilometre or two before the start of each stage, why not interview them there? They're relatively much more composed, have no excuse to set off up the road after a quick "for me is ok", and are much more likely to give an insightful comment than some bland nothingness of half-thought-out grunt.
For every hilarious Ostberg/Ogier moan about Pirelli, there's a million "stage was ok, car was ok, time was ok" and it's rubbish.
