Paddon & Atkinson could have a WRC drive tomorrow...........as long as they bring plenty of £$£$£$£$£.....

I only wish there were more seats available for talent, rather than money.....

I have said this for years. F1 has the Superlicence, so rallying should have something similar, even at a national level. But policing it and enforcing it would be tough. The teams would kick up a stink saying that it would interfere with their commercial activities unfortunately.

I agree. The PWRC isn't really a good feeder series for future WRC drivers. We didn't see too much Arai or Aigner after they won the PWRC title. But I think Paddon could be a positive surprise ... if he can find the budget.

Agree, somebody could win the lottery, go to Prodrive, or, even M-Sport and order a WRCar.....and voila ......(providing they've got a licence, BARS test, etc)

Even the backmarkers in F1 have shown some level of competence in the lower formulae. Whilst, Rallying should always be inclusive - having the ability to drive a WRC should be needed.

But all kind of motorsport has been like this since the early 70'ies and if the talent is there then it's easier to find sponsorship.

I read that quote somewhere else this week on a few different websites. I think whoever wrote it hasn't done their research. They are also forgetting Gabriel Pozzo from Argentina, and of course 4 time champ Gustavo Trelles from Uruguay as focus206 has already stated.
