However I think he had some top three times as well. Don´t remember what he said if he had some problems but I do think he had. Sound and speed looked good on SS1 though.

It definitely matched and beat WRC machinery when it did the Skillinge 500 past my parent's house! Although Skillinge 500 is not a championship event so you can't really expect the same kind of competition.
Still, he did look "careful" where I saw him so maybe it has some potential!
Not sure if people were aware or not but it appears the Mirage is also entered into the National portion of Rally GB.

I'm guessing it's the same car? Looking forward to seeing it if so.
Does Mark Cronje driving Fiesta R5 from VW Rally onwards..?
No, it is the same S2000 with facelifted front.
From Mpart AB facebook (Mirage R5 builders)
"We're back!
Whilst we haven't posted anything here for the past few months, we've been extremely busy. Since our last post we have been flat out developing and testing the car and the first batch of customer cars is nearing completion.
Part of the test programme has included a number of rallies in Sweden. In fact, this weekend the car will be seen competing in the final round of the Swedish Rally Championship, which is based in and around the town of Uppsala.
Behind the scenes, we've also been working on eligibility and putting together documentation which will allow the car to be assessed and accredited. Full specifications and prices will be published soon and we are delighted to confirm that we have already received lots a considerable number of firm orders from customers around the world.
There's some exciting announcements to be made in the coming weeks, so keep an eye open for more news soon!"
FIA homologation ahead? It would be great!

Osian Pryce will run Mirage R5 at Cambrian
That's a really interesting call, wonder if he's considering running it in the top class of BRC next year. With the right tyres and someone of his ability it might just work...
The second part to the Mirage news is that they now have a UK and Ireland distributor - Spencer Sport.

Is "self made R5" allowed in BRC ?
or only real R5 ?
what about R5+ or R5 2.0 or RRC or S2400 ?

The Mitsubishi R5 is built precisely to FIA R5 Class specification.
It features a 1620cc engine based on the Mitsubishi 4B11 unit from the Evolution X, connected to a five-speed Sadev transmission and four-wheel-drive system. The car is fitted with MacPherson suspension and Öhlins dampers all round, mated to specially designed subframes.
LHD, RHD and R5+ versions are also available. Details on request.
The Mitsubishi R5 has been manufactured to comply with FIA R5 regulations. However, because it is not currently homologated by the FIA, participation in each country has to be sanctioned by the regions’ motorsport governing body.
A technical document that mirrors a set of homologation papers has been produced and is available for submission for regional approval, as follows:
For the car to run in the appropriate class in national status events within each country
For the car to run in the R5 class in international status events within each country, subject to a local agreement and championship regulations
Spencer Sport and Mpart are able to assist with the eligibility and accreditation process.

How many Mirages are buildt until now, more than the 3 in the eWRC archive?
I only know those 3. But....

Team Skoda Italia Motorsport has 3 Fabia R5 (surpassing BRR with 2 cars)
Spare car or to other driver?
Some rumours about Opel Corsa R5 as a zero-car at rally valais and/or rally Wales GB.
Anyone even seen the car testing?
How can anyone see the car testing if it doesn't exist? So far no real source said that anyone is working on the Corsa R5 in the last year. And for every rumor that's spread, someone else says it's bullshit... ;) The only thing that is sure is that IF Opel develops a more advanced rallycar (be it R5 or even WRC), they have the perfect driver(s) for the project. Would be a shame if they can't use what Bergkvist has to offer.
Some nice nonsenses there like 450 Nm at 7500 rpm :)
Jari Ketomaa has tested that Mitsu "R5" in GB (England/Wales)
Would be interesting to know what he has to say about it because I think he is most experienced R5 driver sofar who has tested that Mitsu

Mitsubishi R5 Asphalt Test

For the moment the car seems to be way too soft for the asphalt.
Looks like they just tightened the dampers to max, and bolted on slicks.
Does not look like a full asphalt undercarriage yet.
I have just found some onboard videos from Proton Satria Turbo on Grizedale Rally last year. It will be nice if Proton give green light for the construction of an R5.

It's a S2000 body with a R5 engine on it?

It would be cool to see an R5 Proton. The Satria Neo was the best of the 'homemade' S2000s.

Gee, fastest stage times in such an event. Maybe it holds a bit of pace after all. Now I am curious if they will get FIA homologation and what the pricing will be. Cmon Mitsu, don't be thick, this is great, free advertising for you!
First on UK soil - Simpsons Skoda's Fabia R5 entered on the Neil Howard Stages, Nov 7th.

Thumbs up for black rims.
I have never understood why somebody likes black rims...
When we have someone to love green ones i believe in all "likes".
