Peugeot has chosen to apply race by race, we will see ;)
Since the start of the week, Peugeot-Sport is testing in Barcelona with two 908s and the 9 crews who will run 2009 Le Mans... ;)
Despite the official announcement of the drivers only scheduled for next monday(9th february)we can already guess with more or less truth these nine drivers who will have as mission to beat new Audi R15s and official Aston-Martins at the next 24h of Le Mans :D :D
-Stéphane Sarrazin
-Nicolas Minassian
-Franck Montagny
-Sébastien Bourdais(yes, you didn't dream !!!!)
-Pedro Lamy
-Marc Gené
-Christian Klien
-Alexander Wurz
-Anthony Davidson
I'm sure from the deep of my gut it'll be the line-up for Le Mans...can't wait for monday
In yesterday interview on L'Equipe, Sébastien Bourdais confirmed he will be in Paris on monday at Peugeot-Sport press conference...now how is it possible to keep having doubts he will run the 24h of Le Mans with the team again ??? :)
I believe that the four last year's drivers are still under Peugeot's contract. At least Lamy and Sarrazin are...
According to today's L'Equipe...David Brabham with Peugeot at Le Mans !!!!!
and other news from today peugeot´s press confernce?

thanks, tom ;)
David Brabham would be an excelent chooise. He has a bulk of experience, and is still fast. Peugeot is gonna need al the experience and speed they can get to finally beat the Audi's. Hopefully iot wil be a dry(er) Le Mans this year, so Peugeot is not having an disadvantage of the closed cockpit.
Now we only can waith until 4 o clock.
Aston-Martin gonna be also a very strong team to count with this year...not only Audi !! ;)
One more info from today's L'Equipe: the crews for the Le Mans race...
Sarrazin with Montagny and Klien
Lamy with Minassian and Bourdais
Wurz with Gené and Brabham

No surprise !!!! L'Equipe was right !!!! Sébastien Bourdais and David Brabham are the lonely "news" among the team(no Villeneuve, no Zonta anymore)... ;)
Villeneuve cost Peugeot the win at Lemans anyway, couldnt drive in the rain if his life depended on it, losing 20-30 seconds a lap
More news !!!!
For the 12h of Sebring two cars(crews Bourdais/Montagny/Sarrazin and Klien/Lamy/Minassian)...
Brabham will be present, but driving for ACURA...
For the 1000km of Spa(2nd LMS round) three cars(!!!) crews Montagny/Sarrazin, Gené/Brabham/Wurz and Minassian/Lamy/Klien
Bourdais absent because F1 GP...
No crews formed for the 24h of Le Mans yet...
All three 908s will have the same livery:

According to today's L'Equipe magazine, ALMS Acura driver Simon Pagenaud would also become Peugeot-Sport test driver !!!!! He would replace Sébastien Bourdais at the 1000km of Spa in may and would be "lend" to Pescarolo to run in the 4th 908 at the 24h of Le Mans !!!! Stunning news
L'Equipe writes the news will become official next week ;)
Another interesting news about Peugeot-Sport's future program in endurance :) :)

Personally, I think they should have gone for an open top like Audi - the closed top has visibility issues - and pit stops take longer than the Audi.Quote:

Sébastien Loeb is obviously sure, to replace David Brabham, gone with the Highcroft LMP2 Acura... ;)
Biggest unknown is Christian Klien, more attracted by the Formula One but without program until today
Official until today are: Alexander Wurz, Sébastien Bourdais and Nicolas Minassian.
Also Stéphane Sarrazin and Frank Montagny have been confirmed in radio by Quesnel...
Would be very big surprise if Marc Gené and Pedro Lamy wouldn't be confirmed tomorrow(they should be to my mind)...
Note that Serge Saulnier left Peugeot-Sport, and is replaced by belgian ex-rally codriver(working for Citroën since then)Sven Smeets !!!
Also belgian engineer Christian Deltombe works with the 908 endurance programme(since 2009).
I'm hoping they confirm for Petit again, it would be a shame if they dont.
hopefully, I won't be close to getting hit by one this time
Anybody think there is a chance we will see Jacques Villeneuve drive for Peugeot this June? I'm keeping my fingers crossed but have no clue if there is a point in doing so or not. lol
well official news

along with the new livery

car #1: Marc Gene, Alexander Wurz, Anthony Davidson
car #2: Nicolas Minassian, Franck Montagny, Stephane Sarrazin
car #3: Sebastien Bourdais, Simon Pagenaud, Pedro Lamy
Christian Klien will be a reserve driver
Fantastic to see "the Ant" in the team :D
No surprise though, he tested the car last year and impressed the team despite being "replaced" by experienced David Brabham ;)
Lamy/Minassian/Bourdais and Wurz/Gené/Davidson will be the crews at the ALMS 12h of Sebring later next month(20th march)
Then all three cars, the ORECA one, the Audis and the Astons(Lola)will offer us a FANTASTIC show in Belgium on 9th may(LMS 1000km of Spa), one month before Le Mans...

Many news for this thread me thinks :D
In 2012 there should be changes among the drivers/crews since 2007 start of the Le Mans project...and perhaps surprises ;)
This week Kimi Räikkönen will test the 908 and be evaluated by Bruno Famin and co. to decide if the ex-Ferrari F1 Finn champion will be part of the team in 2012...rumours a few days ago also mentionned German Nico Hülkenberg but no news since.
Also Stéphane Sarrazin and Frank Montagny are there to prepare the next 6h of Silverstone ILMC round alongside Simon Pagenaud(who could replace the wounded Anthony Davidson)
On his side, Peugeot-Sport's test driver Jean-Karl Vernay will start devellopment of the hybrid powered 908...
After Pedro Lamy(official here)rumours mention Marc Gené and Nicolas Minassian as next drivers who leave the team at end 2011...in the same time current ORECA driver Loďc Duval is considered as next factory Pug driver too...
Let's update this thread soon ;)
Would be a shame if 'quick Nic' Minassian lost his drive - always impresses me. Don't think Quesnel's choice of drivers is the best.
Hope that Audi beats them badly in every race. That was no way to treat Lamy at Le Mans!!

Go, go Peugeot :bounce:
Very interesting news: both Brazilian Luca DiGrassi and Belgian Bertrand Baguette also had a test with the 908
According to this week's AutoHebdo, Nicolas Minassian(Quick Nic)is also leaving the team for 2012...
The 2012 line-up would be: Davidson(WEC), Bourdais(WEC), Pagenaud(Spa + Le Mans), Montagny(WEC), Sarrazin(WEC), Gené, Di Grassi, Vernay, ???
Final answer by end of this month ;)
Peugeot ends Le Mans programme with immediate effect - Le Mans news - AUTOSPORT.com
Quite shocking news, IMHO. Might also add fuel to the fire as to what happens to PSAs OTHER racing programme in the future...
Any chance of a private team entering the factory Peugeots?
:(
Never saw that coming.
Terrific ding-dong between Audi & Pug
Toyota joining, Nissan contemplating; the future was looking bright.
Well, that's LM 2012 sorted. Congratulation Audi! :D
I'm desperatly SPEECHLESS ;(
I even CAN'T understand PSA's decision to cancel endurance racing program, that is NONSENSE, when you have a 908 Hybrid to run and promote in the same time hybrid road cars to customers(508 RXH and 3008)
FANTASTIC :D
Return of Peugeot in Endurance & Le Mans from 2022 Under the Hybrid Hypercar FIA/ACO regulation !!!!
I was waiting for such news since...er...2012 in fact :bounce:
Surprise! Today Peugeot announced their partner for 2022 Hypercar endurance and Le Mans campaigns will be Rebellion Racing, whereas ORECA was the most quoted as rumour
Would Vandoorne be allowed to do Le Mans with Peugeot?
Verstuurd vanaf mijn ONEPLUS A6013 met Tapatalk
Finally Rebellion decided to retire from motoring competition at the end of this season :(
But Peugeot will continue endurance program, so no panic(they would be interested in Dallara chassis) ;)
